announced his commitment to UC Davis on Thursday.
Guess had a great offseason and was named the quarterback MVP at the National Preps Showcase.
The lefty threw for 2014 yards with 12 touchdowns last season and just two interceptions. Guess also ran for a team-high 791 yards and 19 touchdowns.
He also had offers from Eastern Washington and Portland State.
Guess is the eighth player from California in UC Davis’ 2025 recruiting class and is the third quarterback from the state joining Axel Eason and Tyus Miller Tyus Miller 5'10" | 175 lbs | QB Clovis East | 2025 State CA .

Guess ran a 40-yard dash in the 4.6 range and was making excellent throws consistently during the event.
His arm strength has improved greatly over the past two years and colleges are starting to notice. UC Davis offered him recently.
Guess had some zip on the shorter throws and nice touch on the deeper ones.

Guess was one of the faster quarterbacks in the speed drills and took advantage of every rep he got during one-on-ones.
He looked the best I’ve seen him look throwing the ball and he was constantly hitting receivers in stride. His release is smooth and his arm strength has improved.
UC Davis offered him recently. He’s been a solid quarterback for three years and it’s good to see him finally getting some recognition on a big stage.

Guess is an explosive athlete and despite his legs being tired from a track meet, I’m willing to bet he was among the top finishers in the speed drills.
His game is better on the field than he is in camp settings because you can’t take off and run in a camp setting. But he made the right reads and was one of the more accurate throwers on short throws to the flat.
Right when I was disappointed in his deep throws, he threw a dime to the endzone and led the receiver perfectly. Guess will have a huge fall and is consistently getting better.
