<p>The Bedford Kicking Mules came a with a huge victory over the Saline Hornets. Bedford entered the game with a 4-2 record and now moves to 5-2. Saline came into the game at 6-0 and now falls to 6-1. This was a very tough defensive battle where moving the football offensively was hard to come by. </p>

<p><strong>1st Quarter Key Plays</strong></p>

<p>Bedford running back and linebacker <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='300704' first='Trey' last='Brueggemann']</strong> scored a rushing touchdown with 4:55 remaining in the 1st quarter to give Bedford a 7-0 lead. Bedford running back<strong> Tyler Boerst</strong> ran the ball well in the 1st quarter and helped setup the Brueggemann rushing touchdown. Bedford quarterback <strong>Brody Leonhard</strong> had some nice runs and did a great job of running the offense. </p>

<p><strong>Saline Hornets Standout Players</strong></p>

<p><strong>#90 Sam Kreuzer</strong>- Kreuzer played very well last night for the Hornets. He came up with a sack on 3rd down that forced Bedford to have to punt with 11:01 in the 2nd quarter. Kreuzer made several key tackles in this football game that helped stop the Bedford offense. </p>

<p><strong>#34 James Rush-</strong> Rush had big 30 plus yard carry with just over 8 minutes remaining in the 2nd quarter. Rush had some good carries on the night. He has good play speed and does a good job finding running lanes. Rush is a true freshman with a very bright future ahead. </p>

<p><strong>#5 [player_tooltip player_id='188007' first='Dylan' last='Mesman']-</strong> Mesman had some nice catches over the middle last night from the tight end position. He has good body control and adjusts well to the football. Mesman had a great catch with a defender all over him with 5 minutes in the 3rd quarter. </p>

<p><strong>Bedford Players That Stood Out</strong></p>

<p><strong>#10 Brody Leonhard</strong>- Leonhard helped Bedford move the ball and eat up clock. Despite their offense only scoring one touchdown, Leonhard did a great job of managing the game and securing the football. Leonhard looked so composed as a freshman coming into a packed stadium against an undefeated team. </p>

<p><strong>#34 Tyler Boerst-</strong> Boerst ran the ball well and did a great job of picking of yardage when he got the ball on the outside. He has good speed and quickness and has had a great year for Bedford. Boerst plays linebacker as well for Bedford and did a good job last night defensively. </p>

<p><strong>#2 [player_tooltip player_id='300704' first='Trey' last='Brueggemann']-</strong> Brueggemann played outstanding last night for Bedford. He was all over the field defensively and made numerous plays for the Bedford defense. Brueggemann had a key sack with 6:31 in the 2nd quarter that halted a promising Saline drive. Brueggemann is a fearless runner who ran the football very physically not only last night but all season. He had a nice 30 plus yard catch over the middle of the field in the 1st half. Brueggemann had 136 yards rushing on the night and was a key factor in Bedford coming out victorious. </p>

<p><strong>#21 Luke Davis-</strong> Davis has done a great job in coverage at the cornerback position the past few seasons. He does not allow receivers to get much separation on him. He had a critical pass breakup late in the game that prevented Saline from getting in the Redzone. </p>
