What to Watch For
This is always one of the hardest hitting football games in the SEC-Red every season. Last years game was very exciting and competitive. Both teams will be ready for this game as this still remains a big rivalry game.
Bedford Players to Watch For
#39 Owen Przybylski | RB/DB | Hudl
Przybylski is a great player who makes a big impact offensively and defensively. He has good speed and can create big plays. He is good at reading where quarterbacks are going to throw and does a great job breaking on the football and coming away with interceptions. He had a nice interception in the Dexter game that helped put his team in scoring position. A big play by Przybylski on offense or a turnover would be huge for Bedford in this game.
#2 Trey Brueggemann Trey Brueggemann 6'0" | 215 lbs | RB Bedford | 2023 MI | RB/LB | Hudl
Brueggemann is a tackling machine for Bedford. He had a pick-6 in the Ann Arbor Huron game a few weeks ago. I liked watching him compete in the Dexter game. He made good open field tackles on the talented skill players that Dexter had. Brueggemann is quick to recognize opposing teams plays and fly to tackle ball carriers. He has very good play strength and can shed blocks with ease. You have to believe that for Bedford to win that Brueggemann will have to have double-digit tackles in this football game.
Saline Hornets Players to Watch
#18 Garrett Baldwin | WR/FS | Hudl
Baldwin has been terrific for Saline this season. Last week he had a pick-6 in the 56-0 win over Ann Arbor Pioneer. Baldwin is a true ball-hawk at the safety position. You have to believe that quarterbacks are very nervous when they throw the ball anywhere near Garrett Baldwin. I like how Baldwin can flip his hips in coverage. He does a good job of turning and running when needed to make a play on the football or track down a ball carrier.
#8 Roman Laurio Roman Laurio 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Saline | 2024 State MI | WR | Hudl
Laurio has good body control and can stop quickly on curl routes. He has good hands and does a good job of tucking the football away right after he catches it. He has very good long speed and can beat defensive backs deep on go-routes. Laurio is good after the catch and has the ability to make defenders miss. Laurio had a good game last year against Bedford and will certainly be looking to continue that trend this year.
#5 Dylan Mesman Dylan Mesman 6'5" | 220 lbs | TE Saline | 2024 State MI | TE | Hudl
Mesman is a great blocker who does a great job of finishing blocks. He is both a great run blocker and pass blocker. Mesman has no fear going over the middle to make catches and does a great job of using his size to block out defenders. Mesman has great size at 6-5, 225 lbs and will be a tough guy for Bedford’s defense to matchup with this Friday.
