Week 1 Live Action Report: Brockton vs Barnstable Part 1.

The evaluations will be done from live-action played games each week. Beginning with Week 1 of MIAA action, this piece will cover Brockton H.S. vs Barnstable H.S. game played on Sept 9, 2022. We will split this piece into two parts with each team playmakers mentioned separately. In this piece, we begin with Brockton H.S. the winners of a 13-6 game. Ranked as our # 1 WR in the New England Region and 9th overall in class of 2024, he is just an athletic specimen. Has soft hands and easily can be a match up nightmare for the majority of Db's that will have to face him each game.  Monteiro had an early costly fumble at the start of the game that he made up for by hauling in a 24-yard touchdown strike TD. A unknown talent to me prior to this game that easily grabbed my eye with his consistent playmaking production.  He stands approximately 5'11u0022 195lbs in estimation, and has a very physical presence brought to the field. He also picked off the first of the four interceptions his team had during the game.  He was seen being gritty and quick to react to filling holes to make the play. His inside running between the tackles was aggressive.  He fights for the extra yards and because of his bursting ability, he gets up field before the 1st level defender can usually react.  At 5'10u0022 he has decent size and protects the ball well in traffic.  He had a solid performance.  He is in the class of 2024 so he has some time in the recruiting process to go. He wasn't targeted much during the game as it appeared he was facing multiple double team schemes to prevent him from getting open.
