Ardrey Kell at Weddington – Offensive Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Weddington won a big game 31-14 over a very good Ardrey Kell team this past Friday Night - let's take a look at who stood out offensively: </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Weddington - QB [player_tooltip player_id='396921' first='Tyler' last='Budge'] - I did not know much about Budge coming into this game, but I am walking away VERY impressed with his game! It was obvious that Weddington's game plan was to throw the football and attack the Ardrey Kell secondary, and this young man did an exceptional job in execution. As a 2024 prospect he stands at 6'3 and 200 pounds, and he had 3 touchdown passes and showed some great accuracy and touch on a variety of throws. If he does not have any recruiting attention, he should start getting some very soon. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ardrey Kell - RB Beylor Morgan - The Knights had some trouble getting things going in general on offense, but their brightest spot on the night was Morgan, who is a 2023 running back who has some excellent vision. He had a TD run from about 35 yards out which he hit the hole well and got north and south - that is the best part of his game, a downhill runner off of zone plays. He had another big run where he was able to read a cutback at the 2nd level and pick up a big gain to get the Knights into the red zone. At 5'4 he is on the smaller side, but he is an important piece of the Knight's attack. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Weddington - ATH [player_tooltip player_id='324916' first='Griffin' last='Reimer'] - Reimer had a very good game - he came up with a few big catches to keep the chains moving offensively, and he had a beautiful TD catch in the 2nd quarter where he was able to beat an Ardrey Kell corner down the sideline for the TD catch. Reimer has a bunch of offers from different levels of schools, but as a 2023 prospect, he has not committed yet. It will be interesting to me to see where he ultimately plays on the next level - and on what side of the ball he plays on, as he has some special talent. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Weddington - ATH [player_tooltip player_id='45000' first='Zymill' last='Patterson'] - Patterson in my opinion was probably the most explosive player on the field on both sides. He had 2 touchdowns - one of them being a beautiful catch down the sideline against man coverage in the front corner of the end zone. He high-pointed the football well and made a play when his team needed, as the game was still in doubt at the time. He also had a 2nd TD reception in the 3rd quarter to put the game on ice. Also, there was a play that was impressive to me.
