Yesterday, as I was combing through the Hudl accounts of every Division 4 school in Wiscsonin for the Preseason All-State team, it once again became to apparent to PrepRedzoneWI that there is a lot of exciting talent in the class of 2022. With only a limited amount of spots available on the Preseason All-State list, there were a lot of studs left off the list that deserved some recognition. Let’s take a look at the 10 of the finest of these standout 2022s that are set to make a big impact in D4’s various conferences, and were not selected to the Preseason All-State team. There’s also a watchlist with other identified rising juniors in the Division. A lot of these guys will find themselves on more than a fair share of awards list here soon! Thanks for reading.
Nate Fogo (Richland Center) OLB/TE. 6’2, 200 lbs. @NateFogo Did a good job of reading the QB's eyes and inserting himself in passing lane to bat down balls last year. Showed a proficiency in coverage and had a couple good, strong tackles on his sophomore tape. Also athletic enough to help Richland Center in the passing game. Sophomore Year
[player_tooltip player_id="31264" first="Zander" last="Rathke"] (Altoona) 6’4, 230 lbs. @ZanderRathke04 Thicker defensive lineman for his 230 lb. frame with a good motor and is a crushing tackler. Strong run defender. Sophomore Season
[player_tooltip player_id="31342" first="Robby" last="Michael"] (KLC) QB. 5'11, 170 lbs. @robbymichael15 2019 First Team All-Conference. Threw for 2,240 yards and rushed for 667 yards. Responsible for 34 TDs. It's hard not to get excited to when watching Michael's film. Clean footwork, strong arm, and drops the deep ball right on the money and in the bread basket. Can hit receivers in stride and keeps his cool if things become a mess in the backfield. Effective with his feet but is a throw-first QB. Sophomore SZN
Kenny Satori (Denmark) RB/RB/LB. 6’2, 210 lbs. @KennySatori 2019 All-Conference HM as RB. Totaled 30 carries for 212 yards and 25 receptions for 334 yards. Also had 62 tackles on defense. Team captain as a sophomore. Has a lot of room to fill out on his 6'2 frame still. Good speed and is a threat as a WR or a RB. Good vision and shows some strength in lead blocking from the FB position. Also has good vision and is an efficient North-South runner. Going to be a very good upperclassman. Sophomore Season
Basil Demco (Big Foot) QB/DB. 6'0, 170 lbs. GPA 3.43. @demco_a In 2019 threw for 1,142 yards and 14 TDs with a 47% completion percentage. Also added 108 yards rushing. Smooth release and throws a pretty ball. Can squeeze the ball into tight windows and makes some impressive throws for a high school QB. Mobile and hit receivers while on the run. Sophomore Highlights
Jacob Buck (Kettle Moraine Lutheran) LB/WR. 6’2, 195 lbs. Versatile player who helped his squad at the WR, TE, and LB positions in 2019. Technically sound tackler. Skinny for his 190-200 lb. frame. Sophomore Year
Zach Gloudeman (River Valley) RB/LB. 6’2, 210 lbs. 2019 First Team All-Conference RB. Extremely strong runner with a crazy first play on his highlight tape. Shifty with good feet and absolutely fills out his 210 lb. frame well. Even watching his tape right now I feel kind of regretful I didn't name him Preseason All-State, as he's a really powerful running back who made a ton of big plays for River Valley last year. I really like his patience, acceleration, and vision as well. Can run through you or around you. College coaches should check this man out!! 2019 Season
Joey Nerat (Campbellsport) DB/ATH. 5’11, 170 lbs. @JoeyNerat12 51 tackles in 2019 in 7 games. Played in the box a lot as a sophomore and was an effective tackler who can fly around in the run or pass game. Showed adequate deep safety skills as well and has a decent break on the ball and decent footwork. Strong for his size and makes you feel him when he hits you. Sophomore Season
