Leading 2023 Rushers in 7A Region 7

It's an area loaded with talent, and some of the best backs in Gwinnett County are located in 7A Region 7.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Here are some of the top rushers right now in the talented Gwinnett County region...</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><a href="https://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/jordan-louie/KQlo1JTpEemA0ZFtwg1OMQ/football/stats.htm">Jordan Louie</a> - Meadowcreek</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>One of the top overall backs across the state, Louie is playing in his first football season in Georgia, and he's already running through defenses on a consistent basis. The West Virginia commitment dominated in week three, rushing for 234 yards and two touchdowns in a big win over Campbell. He's an electric runner who looks like he's gliding past defenders with ease. He has great footwork, runs with balance, and can slash through defenses down the field. He's tough to handle in the open field and always finds a way to break off a big run. He checks all the boxes and could see more offers come his way this fall. He's a tough back with size at 5-foot-11 205-pounds, but he shows plenty of speed on tape. Through three games, Louie has rushed for just under 500 yards, proving he's one of the most productive backs not only in the region, but throughout 7A. Look for Louie to run Meadowcreek into the playoffs later this fall.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='393727' first='Jacob' last='Davis'] - Discovery</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>An under the radar back in the 2023 class, Davis picked up right where he left off last year, running hard and breaking tackles on a consistent basis. The 5-foot-9 190-pounder is quick, has good burst, and knows how to slip through would-be tacklers. He reads the field well, follows his blocks, and is a consistent weapon for the Discovery offense. He's coming off an excellent game in week three where he rushed for 194 yards and a touchdown in a big win over Stone Mountain. In week one, Davis rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns. He's a back who can play at the next level, and he deserves an opportunity to make one team very lucky. He may not play D1, but there are plenty of smaller schools who could use a guy like Davis running the ball. He's without a doubt one of the top backs and overall offensive weapons in the region right now.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Julian Walters - North Gwinnett</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A new 2024 running back to know in the 2024 class, Walters is off to a great junior season for the always powerful North Gwinnett Bulldogs. He's not the biggest back around, but at 5-foot-9 165-pounds, he's a natural runner who gets the job done. He had a breakout game one of the season, rushing for 146 yards and one touchdown in a big win over McEachern. He hits the hole hard, runs with balance, and has been a reliable weapon so far for the Bulldogs. He rushed for 60 yards and a touchdown and in week three rushed for 94 yards. In total, Walters has rushed for an even 300 yards this year, averaging 100 yards per game so start his junior season.
