They are perhaps one of the most important aspects of an offense and can easily make or break a team. In the state of Georgia, there has always been a great reputation of producing incredible talent, especially at OL. Each year, there are multiple OL prospects in Georgia who manage to receive opportunities to play Power 5 football. Coincidence, we think not. While some of the premier talent tends to go and play for some of the top programs in the country such as Alabama, LSU, and Ohio State, there are other great OL who end up playing at smaller schools, and go on to make a name for themselves there.
Caleb Cook Caleb Cook 6'3" | 290 lbs | OL Brunswick | 2021 State GA (Brunswick)- 6’3 290- Georgia Southern
Caleb Cook Caleb Cook 6'3" | 290 lbs | OL Brunswick | 2021 State GA has recorded 6 notable offers so far and is committed to Georgia Southern. The battle is theirs to lose, because we definitely expect him to be able to receive more this upcoming season as he will continue to develop into his frame, and skill set. Cook is a very explosive OL who rolls his hips very well on contact. With this, he moves quick enough, and athletic enough to pull effectively, thus opening up lanes. He plays at a great wide base, and utilizes his length and arms to his ability. Upon extending his arms, he keeps defenders at a good distance, while using his feet to reposition himself well to stay on his blocks. While he also uses his hands very well, we think that he can get caught up a little bit at times. Expect Cook to have a great 2020 season.
Royce White Royce White 6'5" | 250 lbs | OL Troup County | 2021 State GA (Troup County)- 6’5 250- Memphis
Out of all of the players on this list, Royce White Royce White 6'5" | 250 lbs | OL Troup County | 2021 State GA is perhaps the most flexible. He shows great hip, and knee bend, and can play at a good level. His wide, but powerful base allows him to finish blocks, while also being able to move around very well off of the snap. White’s explosive ability is very effective, and we are sure that Memphis coaches cannot wait for him to start up with them. His athletic movement can be very effective in the run, and we think he is very underrated out of the list of 2021 OL commits.
Jakiah Leftwich Jakiah Leftwich 6'6" | 290 lbs | OL Westlake | 2021 State GA (Westlake)- 6’6 290- Georgia Tech
Even though Georgia Tech is a Power 5 school, we still find Jakiah Leftwich Jakiah Leftwich 6'6" | 290 lbs | OL Westlake | 2021 State GA to be a bit of an underrated commit out of Georgia’s 2021 OL class. He has solid feet and hands, and is pretty consistent with playing at a good base. While he can catch defenders at times, he has proven time after time that he engages contact well and that he can roll his hips at a high level too. With this, Leftwich also manages to keep a flat back when blocking- which is very rare for a large amount of OL. We believe Georgia Tech got a great, underrated player in Leftwich, and will only reap the benefits of having done so.
