Continue ReadingSean Donovan Sean Donovan 6’2″ | 230 lbs | DL Hotchkiss | 2023 State New E , the Hotchkiss captain and Army commit, can be stationed inside either offensive or defensive lines, proving his worth to the Bearcat program. The kid is also a standout long-snapper, so no phase of the game is left untouched by Sean Donovan Sean Donovan 6’2″ | 230 lbs | DL Hotchkiss | 2023 State New E . The young man’s imprints are left all over the game. A quick look at his tape and you’ll see exactly what AWP sees in him. I love Donovan the defensive tackle, he’s got a get-off that is quick off the snap. What’s better, Donovan actually utilizes this get-off to his advantage, combining great hand placement and quick feet to get into the backfield with ease, especially up against bigger, slower guards in the interior. The kid’s motor runs to the whistle and throughout the game, this goes for his reps at guard as well. Such a punishing player, we had to rank him inside the top 10 at his position. Fun player to breakdown.
Next up is Carl Lund Carl Lund 5’11” | 215 lbs | RB Hotchkiss | 2023 State New E , formerly out of Lakeland High School in New York. What a potential pair Lund and Donovan are along this Hotchkiss defensive line. Lund is another super aggressive defender who can provide some outside edge rush capabilities. Lund is going to attempt to beat you with power initially, yet his pursuit to the football and closing speed to the ball carrier is great. Match that pursuit ability with his motor and you have quite the partner alongside Sean Donovan Sean Donovan 6’2″ | 230 lbs | DL Hotchkiss | 2023 State New E .
Highlights
Rough not having John Bennett John Bennett 5’11” | 175 lbs | WR Hotchkiss | 2023 New E ranked. I had trouble finding his final tape, which led to us leaving him on the Watchlist. Now that I have finally found his season tape, I can say that this young man would easily place in the top 150 of his class and that’s being modest. I would redesignate Bennett as an athlete, considering he can do just as much damage at running back as he can at wideout. Bennett accumulated 1500+ scrimmage yards for Dover-Sherborn, proving to be one the better playmakers the state of Connecticutt has to offer. An elite return man and open field accelerator, I am excited to see whether or not Bennett can replicate his stellar production from last Fall. The reclass from Massachusetts is sure to turn heads at his new home.
Manning the quarterback position and leading the Hotchkiss attack will be Cameron Holland Cameron Holland 6’2″ | 190 lbs | QB Hotchkiss | 2024 State New E , a 6’2 quarterback who has 2 starts under his belt. Limited tape makes it tough to properlly evaluate Holland’s full abilities, yet his junior film at least shows a quarterback who can stretch the field vertically. Solid improvisational skills. Special on the move. Holland can get the snap, stay in the pocket and deliver quick throws if feeling pressure, yet he’d much rather extend a play and make something happen downfield thanks to his solid field awareness and scanning ability. Excited to see a full season of this kid behind center. There’s a lot to like with Holland, which is why we list him as a top 30 quarterback in New England.
