THE SCOOP ON TATE. From the first time we watched him play as a 9th grader, here is someone who simply never stopped improving and impressing.
This is one of those talented young men who has put in the work to reach Clemson University, where he will be next season as a top recruit.
Not matter if it’s blocking for a stellar running game – or protecting one of the elite passers in Florida ([player_tooltip player_id="32778" first="Nick" last="Vattiato"]), he more than gets his job done.
This is a prospect who works year-round, and even when he played basketball for the Sharks, he would put in the time with his head coach Daniel Luque every week – without fail.
Here is a big time talent – on and off the playing field.

QUALITY OFFENSIVE TACKLES ARE TOUGH TO FIND
While Tate is certainly one of the country’s best – and a premier prospect in Florida, there are others to keep an eye on as well. Check out these 5 big men:
[player_tooltip player_id="32868" first="Austin" last="Barber"], 6-7, 315, Jacksonville Trinity Christian. Watching this quality prospect play last year live, this is a prospect who has a motor that does not quit. Tremendous run blocker who will follow plays from start to finish. He is always looking for someone to block on every play. Because his quarterback is mobile, he often times finds himself on the move – and that is not always easy for a prospect his size. A University of Minnesota commitment, here is a talented young man who is fun to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id="32870" first="Riley" last="Beldin"], 6-5. 305, Deland. This big man makes the move from Deltona, where he really laid some groundwork in 2019. Solid run blocker and an improving pass blocker who continues to get better. He plays this game with a lot of intensity, and with improving technique and strength, he will be a prospect worth watching in 2020.

[player_tooltip player_id="32686" first="Javonte" last="Gardner"], 6-5, 290, Orlando Jones. This big man is a huge force up front for the 5A state runner up Tigers. When he comes out of his stance, he is ready to go, quick on his feet and powerful as a run blocker, opening holes and driving the defense back five yards. Big time football player who is starting to pick up some huge offers, including the Florida Gators, who are after several in state offensive linemen.

[player_tooltip player_id="32884" first="Jake" last="Slaughter"], 6-5, 300, Ocala Trinity Catholic. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this University of Florida commitment, who not only gets it done on the football field, but is an amazing student – holding down a 4.64 GPA. He is strong, agile and versatile, playing on the defensive side of the ball as well. This is someone the Gators are going to have in that lineup for years to come.

[player_tooltip player_id="32885" first="Adrein" last="Strickland"], 6-7, 330, Lynn Haven Mosley. Yet another University of Florida commitment, you have to like everything about, this rare Panhandle recruit for the Gators, who have spent plenty of time in the entire state. He has a big body, quick feet and plays from whistle to whistle. While he is a very good run blocker and is not afraid to escort the ball carrier, his skills as a pass blocker have improved greatly over the past year.
