My final offensive top performer from this past weekend’s state championship action in Kentucky is

. Berry helped lead the Shamrocks to their third-straight 6A state title in a win over South Warren, carrying the ball 10 times for a team-high 78 yards and two touchdowns. He proved to be a strong runner, showing the ability to lower his shoulder and keep his legs churning to run straight through defenders to break tackles with ease. Once he hit the open field, Berry showed the elusiveness to make defenders miss and burst of speed to run away from the defense. His play earned him MVP honors for the game. Jamaurion currently holds an offer from Warner and I wouldn’t be surprised to see more come his way this offseason.

was a huge runner for the Rocks, strong between the tackles and when running off-tackle. Berry runs through contact, displays excellent running strength, and is a legitimate home-run threat to go the distance with the ball in his hands. On a touchdown in the first quarter, he flashed ability to make defenders miss in space. He displays soft hands with ability to quickly get upfield after the catch when used as a receiver.

. Berry played a key role in Trinity’s state championship run this past season, running the ball 130 times for 780 yards and 12 touchdowns in 12 games. Jamaurion is a strong downhill runner, bursting through the running lane in a hurry and showing the contact balance to bounce off defenders without breaking stride. He has also shown the burst of speed to run away from the defense for big gains once he hits the open field. Berry also finished his sophomore year with 11 receptions for 85 yards and two touchdowns. Jamaurion currently holds an offer from Warner and I expect more to come his way over the next two seasons.

is a player who is thriving in a new role as the lead back this season, helping lead Trinity to a 2-0 start. They have yet to post their Week 2 stats but Berry was dominant in Trinity’s Week 1 victory over Bryan Station, running the ball 14 times for 138 yards and a touchdown. Berry is a hard runner, showing the ability to keep his legs churning through contact to break tackles without losing stride. Once he hits the open field, he has also shown the burst of speed to run away from the defense. Jamaurion doesn’t currently hold any offers but I expect a lot of eyes to be on him this season.

, a running back at Trinity High School. Berry impresses me with his solid balance, composure under pressure and his ability to absorb defensive contact on the run. Berry’s ability to blast past the pocket and push into the backfield also stands out. I also like Berry’s ability to change direction and use the edge to march into strong field position.

Jamaurion is an explosive linebacker coming out of the state of Kentucky. Jamaurion plays with a high motor and natural instincts on the field that help separate himself form his competition. He has great vision that allows him to track the ball, and the speed to get to the ball carrier before he can make anything of the play. Jamaurion is also a sure tackler who has no problem finding a way to bring his opponents to the ground. Watching him play, it shouldn’t go without saying that he’s also a highly athletic kid who can make plays on the offensive side of the ball, too. However, he looks like a natural at Linebacker. With what I have seen from him, there is no telling what this kid can’t accomplish. The next four years should be fun to watch.
