The all-purpose athlete for Kingsland saw predominant snaps as the team’s starting QB this season, and Kaaleem Reiland Kaaleem Reiland Kaaleem Reiland 5'7" | 195 lbs | RB Kingsland | 2026 State MN did a great job leading the way with his dynamic ability under Center. Reiland finished with 377 passing yards, 3 TDs, and 1 INT while rushing for 991 yards and 14 rushing TDs (9.3 YPC). More often than not, Reiland beat his opponents with his legs, thanks to his quick acceleration, solid vision, and his sharp awareness along with his ability to react to his surroundings on a whim. Reiland did show some good reps as a southpaw QB, making good reads and limiting mistakes as a passer, but his future will most likely be at RB, and he’s already committed to Minnesota-Duluth where he will likely flourish pounding the ball for the Bulldogs.

One of the longest-standing names and talents in the Minnesota 2026 Rankings, Kingsland’s Kaaleem Reiland Kaaleem Reiland Kaaleem Reiland 5'7" | 195 lbs | RB Kingsland | 2026 State MN is going to be a four-year starter for the 9Man heavyweight Knights when it’s all said and done, not to mention a varsity contributor for even longer, and he helped catapult Kingsland to a 4-5 record in 2022 to an 13-1 record in 2023 and a two-point loss in the 9Man Prep Bowl. Reiland’s dynamic athleticism has shown up at a multitude of PRzMN Showcases, where he’s lightning quick and agile in space, not to mention very effective as a route runner, and it’s built on the back of some strong weight room numbers, namely a 225×9 bench press showing during last season. Already fresh off junior day visits to St. Thomas and North Dakota State, Reiland has also heard from North Dakota, Northwestern College, Augustana, and the University of Jamestown so far this offseason, proving himself to be one of the more popular names in Minnesota’s 2026 class.

A dynamic QB/RB/LB/DB, Reiland is at his best with the ball in-hand and green grass in front of him, as he was a natural, explosive, and productive 9Man weapon in 2024 with an electric highlight tape of big TD runs, forced missed tackles, and splash plays. Reiland’s homerun speed can take advantage of even the slightest miss-alignment, missed assignment, or open gap, and his impressive burst leaves defenders diving for ankles and grasping at air as he blows past them. The junior displays good vision and does a solid of job of hitting the hole before bouncing the rock outside smoothly, as well as sudden COD ability with the ball in hand. Reiland also owns an aggressive truck stick that sat more than a few would-be tacklers down in 2024, quick feet help him set up free defenders in space, and natural elusiveness that also aides him when scrambling and extending plays as a QB. Also a good basketball player, the combination of production, playmaking ability, varsity experience, athleticism, and versatility spell out good things for his college career. Should be a busy offseason for the 9Man standout!

Hands down one of the biggest name 9-man prospects, Kaaleem Reiland has done nothing but get better and better. A QB who is sure to shine at RB at the next level, Reiland is beyond quick and explosive. He’s averaging 9.0 ypc this season, and that seems low at times. If you need him to grind out a tough 2 yards up in the trenches, he can do that. If you need him to break off a chunk play, he’s able to do that too. He’s electric, explosive, and deserves all the hype that’s coming to him ahead of his senior year.

One of the best all-around athletes in outstate Minnesota, Reiland is the QB1 for Kingsland but finds exceptional success on the ground. Through 6 weeks Reiland has 292 passing yards, a 6/1 TD-INT ratio, over 500 rushing yards, and 7 rushing touchdowns. A special athlete with the ball in his hands, Reiland finds a way to succeed anytime he’s given the rock. At times he appears unstoppable, especially in open space. I expect nothing but further stock to rise out of this promising 2026er.

1910 yards 22 touchdowns 8 interceptionsrnCheck out Reiland’s stat line for 2023. In addition to this story and his passing statistics above, Reiland has already appeared in this series of stories – as a 1000-yard rusher. The sophomore totaled over 3000 yards from scrimmage. As a freshman, he lined up all over the field on offense – quarterback, out wide, at running back, on special teams, and as a defensive back. As a sophomore, he settled in at quarterback. He obviously moves well in the pocket and can use his legs to buy time and exploit the defense with quarterback runs. He throws a nice deep ball that allows his receivers to adjust to run under the ball.

1113 yards, 14 touchdownsrnThe first thing defensive coaches need to be aware of is where Reiland is lined up. He could be lined up as the running back, the quarterback, or out wide. Although his skill running the ball is the highlight, Reiland is one of the more versatile offensive threats coming back next season. He has good speed and balance but is powerful enough to break tackles, even as a sophomore. His ability to make people miss in the open field also set him apart. As a receiver – like Schmidt – he is not just catching balls in the flat as a check-down. He makes plays in the passing game deep down the field.

It is impressive how many times I have come across sophomore Kaaleem Reiland Kaaleem Reiland Kaaleem Reiland 5'7" | 195 lbs | RB Kingsland | 2026 State MN over the past year. The MN athlete does a great job getting out in front of coaches to show his budding talents, and learn from them. The 5’9″ 180 lbs sophomore continues to fill out a solid frame that is becoming more an more explosive in short areas. I made sure to find Reiland during 1 vs 1 battles, and the young playmaker proved to be a mismatch for LBs. He showed off the balance to make quick cuts, the footwork to get through the breaks efficiently, and the burst to accelerate out of the breaks. Reiland also showed off the soft hands needed to be a reliable third down option. The ’26 also ran a 4.88 40 time. This is an athlete to watch over the next couple years.

Reiland is a dynamic and versatile player, being a threat as both a runner and a passer. His standout attribute lies in his elusive running style, characterized by quick, twitchy movements and sharp cuts in the open field. Reiland’s speed and agility make him a potent threat, capable of evading defenders and breaking away in space. As a quarterback, he brings a combination of finesse and power to the game. His solid arm and ability to put zip on the ball when necessary add a layer of unpredictability to his passing game. His smooth throwing motion, combined with a strong base, showcases his technical proficiency. Reiland’s ability to push the ball deep and place it accurately for his receivers demonstrates his understanding of the game and strategicness. Reiland’s quickness and speed really make him a standout player. His ability to contribute effectively with his legs or arm adds versatility to his overall impact on his team.
