Continue ReadingMore offers and commitments have hit the state of Colorado, despite the uncertainty about the start of the season with just a couple of weeks before the first official day of fall practice is scheduled to begin.
The most recent blitz of offers from an area school came from the Colorado School of Mines. Four local prospects announced receiving offers to play for the NCAA Division II program that has recently become one of the best in the nation in the last couple of days.
A few quarterbacks received offers from the school, including Rampart’s Cale Cormaney Cale Cormaney 6'3" | QB Rampart | 2021 State CO . A two-year starter returning for his senior season, he has thrown for 1,191 yards and 11 touchdowns with a 50 percent completion percentage. Cormaney is the No. 11 ranked quarterback in the Class of 2021 by Prep Redzone Colorado.
One of the best players in Class 1A also earned an offer from the School of Mines. Kory Tacha Kory Tacha 6'1" | RB Limon | 2021 State CO , the Class 1A Player of the Year who led the Limon Badgers to the state title last season, announced his offer to the program. In a spectacular 2019 campaign, he rushed for 1,459 yards and 15 touchdowns and had 17 receptions for 325 and three scores from his running back spot. On defense, he recorded 70 tackles and had an interception and fumble recovery as a linebacker. Tacha is currently ranked the No. 8 running back in Colorado for the Class of 2021.
The final two to announced offers over the last two days to the Colorado School of Mines was a pair of teammates from Legend. Offensive and defensive lineman James Betschart James Betschart 6'5" | OL Legend | 2021 State CO , the No. 15 ranked offensive lineman in the state. Also getting an offer was Connor Eise, a running back and safety for the Titans. In the 2019 season, he had 1,017 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground, and he also got some chances to return kicks in the special teams game.
While these are just some of the latest recruits from the state to be offered, look for many to be offered and to commit to the School of Mines as they actively recruit here in Colorado.

Other notes
An official announcement is expected to come from the Governor’s office and the Colorado High School Activities Association regarding the start of the high school football season as the start of the preseason inches closer and closer. Perhaps a good sign for football was the green light being given to boys tennis and softball to start as scheduled, meaning the association will not delay all fall sports or move the entire fall season to the spring as other states have done. Still, many await the fate of the high school football season.
