Gavin Griffin Gavin Griffin 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Velma Jackson | 2024 State MS | 5’9″ RB | Velma Jackson
Griffin is 5’9″ tall and 185lbs; Griffin finished the 2021 campaign rushing for 1,516 yards on 147 carries with 16 touchdowns. Griffin’s best performance of 2021 came against Leake Central, where he rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns. Griffin will enter the 2022 campaign as a junior looking to make a name for himself. The Falcon’s offense will be difficult to stop if Griffin can pick up where he left off in 2021.
Jarvis Durr Jarvis Durr 5'10" | 185 lbs | RB Brandon | 2023 State MS | 5’11″ RB | Brandon
Durr is 5’11″ tall and 183lbs; Durr is the speed of the running back room returning in 2022 for the Bulldogs. He can make any play memorable when the ball is in his hands. Durr finished 2021 with 214 carries for 1,100 yards and was responsible for 16 touchdowns. Durr does not shy away from the physicality of running between the tackles, but he tends to be at his best when he gets outside the tackles and into the open field. He was electrifying in the state championship game, where he rushed for 116 yards on 37 carries with one touchdown against Madison Central. Durr is a unique back looking to have a memorable senior season.

He looks like he is two steps ahead of the defender when he is running the ball because of his vision. His standout performance in 2021 came against Parklane academy, where he rushed for 260 yards on 30 carries and was responsible for four touchdowns. Cockrell could be a dark horse to win MAIS player of the year in 5A in 2022.
