2A Playoff Predictions

At this point in the year, teams are shifting their focus from summer camps and summer ball to preparing for the 2022 season. Every coach prepares their team with one mission in mind- to win the championships. Last year’s 2A Champions were the Lynden Lions who are looking to make another attempt at the trophy this year. &nbsp; <strong>Lynden High School </strong>Lynden High School was ranked 14th overall in the state and finished the season with a 12-1 record. Their attempt at a repeat is possible as they are retaining many of their starters and have a notable coaching staff. Will Lynden be the elite program that it was last year? <strong>Notable Returning Players: </strong>Kaedan Hermanutz, QB Class of 2023 Lane Heeringa, RB Class of 2023 Taivin Vandalen DB Class of 2024 Isaiah Stanley, WR Class of 2023 <strong>North Kitsap High School </strong>North Kitsap is a great team to make the playoffs this year. This last season the team went 11-1 and won most of their games by a notable margin. They challenged the Champions Lynden High School and came 1 score short of going to the finals. North Kitsap has a lot of returning players who are sure to make a leap in production this year. The additional chip on their shoulders certainly makes them a program set to make the playoffs or even win the championship. <strong>Notable Returning Players: </strong>[player_tooltip player_id="338800" first="Logan" last="Sloman"], WR Class of 2024 Karson Walsh, RB Class of 2023 Jaxson Gore, WR Class of 2023 <strong>Tumwater High School </strong>Tumwater is another program that traditionally wins its games by noticeable margins. They finished 10-3 for the season and the games lost were generally by a touchdown or less. Tumwater’s potential is certainly there as they were 2nd in the 2A state league however their strength of schedule makes them slightly lower on the playoff rankings. If they can repeat the performance from last year one can be certain that they will make the playoffs. Will they win it all this year? Who knows? <strong>Notable Returning Players: </strong>Luke Reid, QB Class of 2023 Nick Lowery, TE Class of 2023 Payton LaGuerre, RB Class of 2024 <strong>Ridgefield High School </strong>Ridgefield is an electric team with great potential. Their team went 11-1 this season but yet again didn’t face much opposition until the playoffs. Their explosive offense and staunch defense have helped them dominate teams in their district. Ridgefield will have a difficult time repeating this feat as they had a strong senior class.
