Southern Arkansas Camp Highlights

Southern Arkansas University is the focus of our article this afternoon. Several Prep RedZone Arkansas prospects had the opportunity to put themselves on display and show the Muleriders coaching staff what they could do. We are also going to highlight a few prospects that were making plays at the Watson Chapel team camp today. Plenty of talented prospects that had impressive days today. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="172373" first="Bradyn" last="King"]-Offensive Line-Gurdon-2025</strong> The Gurdon powerhouse has had an extremely productive summer with plenty of impressive performances at numerous camps this offseason. In Magnolia today, King put his power and quick feet on display going undefeated in one-on-one blocking competitions. King is set to have a strong season for Gurdon this season. He will anchor that offensive line and is versatile enough to play any of the positions along the offensive line. Keep an eye out for King he has the potential to play on Saturdays in the future. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="143614" first="Carter" last="McElhany"]-Wide Receiver-Greenbrier-2023</strong> At every camp this offseason, McElhany put his electric speed on display. He did the same thing today in Magnolia. McElhany earned a scholarship offer from Southern Arkansas University today. The Greenbrier wide receiver is a player that can turn a short gain into an explosive one in the blink of an eye. He is a prospect that is ideal for the slot position, however, I would line him up to the outside and allow him to stretch the field vertically. McElhany has the potential to have a strong season for Greenbrier and they will be a team to watch out for this season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="221270" first="Nykkisson" last="Wimberly"]-Defensive Line-Arkadelphia-2025</strong> Wimberly has performed well at every camp he has attended this offseason and the Southern Arkansas camp was not any different. Wimberly put on display his speed and power and that is a quality mix that will terrorize opposing offensive lines this season. The versatility he has along the defensive line is what impresses me. Wimberly can play the tackle or the edge and be disruptive from either position. He has the potential to play plenty of Saturdays in the future. Watch out for him with the Badgers this season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="274931" first="Perrea" last="Little"]-Defensive Back-Watson Chapel-2024</strong> Little came off the dead week looking in mid-season form. He showed a willingness to get aggressive with the opposing wide receiver and play him physical. Little will make the opposing ball carrier earn every yard. He is not afraid to step up and make a play in stopping the run. Little will see time on both sides of the ball this season for Watson Chapel and he has the potential to have a strong season. Keep an eye on Little this season, he could terrorize opposing passing games with his physicality. <strong>Marquez Bentley Jr.-Wide Receiver-Watson Chapel-2024</strong> Bentley Jr. is a versatile playmaker. The young man is a threat to take it the distance from anywhere on the field. The Watson Chapel staff does an excellent job of getting the ball to him. Bentley Jr. can play the wide receiver, quarterback, and defensive back spots and make plays at every position. He is going to open some eyes this season. I expect Bentley Jr. to have a strong 2022 football season and light up plenty of Friday nights this fall in the process.
