Bartram Trail Ready Once Again

<strong style="font-size: 1rem;">JOHNS BARTRAM TRAIL FOOTBALL</strong><strong style="font-size: 1rem;"> 2022</strong> <strong>Head Coach:</strong> Darrell Sutherland <strong>2021 Record:</strong> 9-3 <strong>THE BEARS</strong> When the 2021 season began, “experts” started to pick teams that had a legitimate chance to reach Fort Lauderdale and the 8A finals. One of those programs was Bartram Trail, and while they fell short, losing to eventual state runner up Apopka, 34-3, it was indeed a good run. While the regular season losses came to Tallahassee Lincoln and Gainesville Buchholz – both playoff programs - the Bears used those setbacks to learn and get stronger. Wins against defending 5A state runner up Tallahassee Rickards (24-7), Miami Christopher Columbus (12-7), Jacksonville Mandarin (23-8), the always tough St. Augustine (26-14), Ponte Vedra (26-24), rival St. Johns Creekside (16-13), Orange Park Oakleaf (49-33) and Jacksonville Sandalwood (50-35) in the state playoffs. They also picked up a first-round playoff win against Altamonte Springs Lake Brantley (42-^). Heading into the 2022 season, there is plenty of optimism once again – with quality talent on both sides of the ball, including special teams.
