Expert Analysis
Matt DeBary | Prep Redzone Scout
A tough, physical runner from South Georgia who has no problem bouncing off defenders, Neal is a power back coming off a strong sophomore season where he ran for 828 yards and seven touchdowns. He runs hard and can be tough to bring down by just one defender. His best football is still way ahead of him and he has a chance to have an even bigger season as a junior this fall. He’s currently ranked as the No. 30 RB prospect in the state for the 2027 class.

A good athlete with plenty of size at 5-foot-10 210-pounds, Neal is a tough, physical runner who can create big plays when things break down. He was consistently one of the better backs in the region last year, running for an impressive 828 yards and seven touchdowns. He ran for at least 50 yards in seven games with his best game coming against Tiftarea Academy where he ran for 236 yards and one touchdown. He’s an easy addition to the next 2027 Prep Redzone rankings after a strong 2024 sophomore season.

A third member of the 2022 Georgia Future Stars to make this short list, Neal showed me a lot during that week in June this summer. Fast, aggressive and instinctual are three words that come to mind when discussing his style of play. Neal is definitely an Outside Linebacker, but he plays the position in an attacking style. He trusts his speed and crashes hard on run plays to aid in the box. His speed is fun to watch, as he’s a sprinter in track. Furthermore, during the regular season he has lined up at Wildcat Quarterback and takes direct snaps to the edge with ease. He simply plays the game at a different tempo than anyone else on the field.
