Several prospects listed below were big additions by college programs with some guys sitting with the potential to develop into future starters and stars during their time on the next level.
(DL) Drake Carlson Drake Carlson 6'4" | 275 lbs | DL Father Ryan | 2023 State TN (6’4 275) – Father Ryan: Committed to Purdue
– The Boilermakers came to Nashville and recruited Carlson very heavily and their continued work paid off in the end when the Fighting Irish and number one ranked D-lineman in the state of Tennessee committed to the Big Ten program. Carlson is a multi talented guy that can play a variety of roles across the Boilermakers D-line but probably fits best on the edge where he can use his pass rush and powerful hands to get after the quarterback. This Middle Tennessee product fits the culture and style of play up in West Lafayette and could develop into an All-Big Ten performer before his college career is done.

(5’10 165) – Christian Brothers: Committed to Army
– After receiving multiple offers, spread across the Power Five to FCS level, Hammond decided on taking his talents up to West Point and play his college football with Army. A high football IQ, athletic defensive back, Hammond is a talented young man that has the traits and upside to play cover corner during his time with the Black Knights. This Memphis area prospect is also a track star that has some serious burners, so during his time at Army, you could see Hammond line up on defense, special teams as a gunner or return man or even sometimes be used on offense due to his playmaking abilities. This was an absolute steal for the Black Knights and a player that could see the field early in his time at Army.

(6’2 185) – Overton: Committed to Memphis
– This entire offseason has been huge for Edwards as he boosted his stock and proved his worth, turning his recruitment into a commitment when he pledged his services this month to the Memphis Tigers. This Nashville area defensive back turned many heads during offseason camps this year, showing off his size and speed along with his ability to cover on the outside. The Memphis staff noticed those abilities and began to pursue Edwards heavily, where it eventually paid off with his commitment. Edwards has tremendous upside and the potential to develop into a possible cover corner on the next level and someone with his best football days ahead of him.

(6’1 185) – Lausanne: Committed to Harvard
– After picking up more than 20 offers throughout this process, Rogers came to a decision late this month that Harvard was the place for him and now this Lynx defensive back will be taking his talents to the Ivy League, where he can develop into a star. Sporting great size and position versatility, Rogers is a multi talented guy that brings a lot of strong traits to the secondary and a competitor that gives his all every time he steps onto the field. Harvard got a steal with the addition of Rogers. He is a high character young man that will work his tail off to earn a role on the 2-deep early in his Crimson career.

TN
(6’2 255) – BGA: Committed to Memphis
– Nevils flew under the radar for most of his recruitment until late this month when Memphis came through with an offer and it didn’t take long for this Middle Tennessee lineman to pounce on that offer and commit. After taking a recent official visit to Memphis, Nevils came away sold on the Tigers and wasted no time in committing. A two-way lineman with an athletic upside, Nevils appears headed to the Tigers as a D-lineman and someone that could play multiple roles within the trenches. He does have more growth to achieve but the athletic upside is there to develop into a very productive player down in Memphis.

(6’2 260) – Maryville: Committed to Army
– One of the best defensive line prospects from the East Tennessee region took his name off the recruiting board earlier this month when Graham made his commitment to Army and according to my scouting eye, they grabbed a steal and a future multi year starter. The Rebels senior defensive leader is an active, physical and smart competitor that shows the ability to work well against the run but also sports pass rushing upside from the interior or edge within a 3-4 defense. Graham brings great value both on and off the field and someone the Black Knights coaching staff won’t have to worry about showing up and showing out on a consistent basis.

(6’3 225) – Fayetteville: Committed to Memphis
– Coming from a small town and the Class 1A level, it’s tough to get recruited and make it to a high level of college football but Thomison is headed that way after committing this month to the Memphis Tigers. Sporting great size, length and upside, Thomison is an intriguing talent that the Memphis staff pursued as someone that could develop inside their defense at either linebacker or defensive end. The Tigers senior defensive standout produced a big year as a junior but could be in store for a bigger season this Fall as possibly the top overall player from the Class 1A ranks.

(6’2 280) – Smyrna: Committed to Memphis
– Many coaches and scouts across the land may not know too much about Marable but this is a guy that doesn’t know how good he can be but the Memphis staff saw that upside and sprung on an offer late this month that this Middle Tennessee product jumped on immediately with a commitment. Marable looks the part and has the physical makeup as someone that can man the middle in the college game and develop into a dominating run stuffer. He also has solid athleticism and someone with pass rushing traits that will only improve on the next level. Memphis might have gotten a steal here with Marable but we shall see in time how he develops during his college days with the Tigers.
