WR Jordan Tally | 6’4″ 170lbs | 2023 | Wink
Jordan Tally may be the most slept-on receiver in 2A. With real deal size and talent, Wink has the tools to be a successful WR at the next level. It was mission impossible to stop Tally, especially in the red zone. He attacks the football at the highest point and aggressively takes the ball out of the air. Tally always extends out to catch with his hands. He has great sideline awareness, is a smooth route runner, and has a 3.9 GPA to top it off. Jordan Tally is one of my favorite under-the-radar guys in the state, even though he sits with no offers, he has the ability and size to excel in a college program.
WR Jadon Porter | 6’0″ 182lbs | 2024 | Lorena
Coming off a 3A state title in the fall, Jadon Porter and his Lorena squad had very high expectations coming into the state tournament. Porter continued to deliver outstanding performances all the way until the end when they fell in the championship game. Porter is a hyper-athlete that can take the top off a defense while also being a homerun threat in the short game. Porter has incredible vertical ability as he was snagging on defenders from all around the state. The 4-star recruit elected to commit to Baylor for the fall of 2024.
CB Aeryn Hampton Aeryn Hampton 5'11" | 185 lbs | ATH Daingerfield | 2024 State TX | 5’10″ 175lbs | 2024 | Daingerfield
There isn’t a thing this young man can’t do on a football field. With his speed and ball skills, Hampton can succeed anywhere. Hampton has incredible leaping ability and can jump with the best of them. He always is the first to get his hands on the football. Athletically, he’s very gifted with his swift quick feet and an instant ability to change direction. It didn’t matter what side of the ball he was on, he was the best on the field. Hampton has committed to Texas over the likes of Alabama, Baylor, and others.
RB Zeke Jones | 5’11″ 165lbs | 2024 | Brady
Zeke Jones over the course of the state tournament was a touchdown machine. Managing to post five touchdowns in the semi-final in the consolation bracket. Jones has great balance in his skill set. After having reached the third round of the playoffs off his legs, Jones got to show his receiving of his game in 7 on 7. He was stellar at getting open down the field by using his speed. Jones can fly but also can get in and out of his cuts. Jones’ recruiting is open as he’s been showing out but is still waiting for his first offer.
S Porter Johnston | 6’0″ 165lbs | 2023 | Graham
Lining up at free safety for Graham HS is Porter Johnston. I was impressed with Johnston’s eyes as they are constantly moving and finding the football. Before a pass is out of the quarterback’s hand, Johnston recognizes it and has the athletic ability to quickly close out on the pass. Doing just this he was able to record several pass breakups throughout a couple of games I saw him play in. We know in 7-on-7 offenses love the jump ball and Johnston was stout in defending in that department. Porter Johnston has the mental capacity and close-out ability to play both in a two or single-high safety look. Heading into his senior campaign, Porter Johnston is continuing to work hard to gain his first offer.
RB Braxton Garmon | 6’0″ 190 | 2023 | Kaufman
After tearing it up in the fall rushing for over 1,100 yards, 15 TD, off only 192 carries, Braxton Garmon still is continuing to display his skills. Garmon got to show off more of his receiving ability along with his lateral quickness. Once Garmon has the ball, he sticks his foot in the ground and immediately turns up the field to maximize yardage. He can line up in the slot to exploit mismatches while looking natural at the receiver position. Somehow Garmon has yet to be offered, but I see him continue to raise his stock throughout the fall.
WR Bryan K Domino Bryan K Domino 5'10" | 160 lbs | WR Fort Bend Christian Academy | 2023 State TX | 5’9″ 160bs | 2023 | Fort Bend Christian
Back in the papers again is Bryan K Domino Bryan K Domino 5'10" | 160 lbs | WR Fort Bend Christian Academy | 2023 State TX of Fort Bend Christian Academy. Although the Eagles didn’t quite have the weekend they were looking for, they still impressed with their talent. Domino as I said about him back in March, is probably the most slept-on receiver in the state of Texas. His route running is above the coverage ability of any corner I’ve seen line up against him. His natural understanding of how to take advantage of the DB’s leverage, mixed with his crafty bag of moves, makes him so difficult to keep up with. Domino has verified 4.46 speed (TCU Camp) to go along with great hands, and lightning-quick feet. I don’t see anything that he isn’t capable of as a WR1. His stock in the past couple of months has skyrocketed as he has picked up offers from Wyoming, Navy, Lehigh, and a couple of others.
