Many participants from the Carolinas and beyond got tested in the 40 yard dash, agility drills, and 1 on 1’s in front of a number of college coaches in attendance. These are a few standouts from my perspective in a four-part series:
Khamoni Robinson Khamoni Robinson 6'0" | 170 lbs | ATH Monroe | 2023 State NC – QB – Monroe – Class of 2023 – Khamoni stands at 6’1 and 180 pounds. His recruitment is starting to take off as he has hit the camp circuit, picking up offers from Benedict, Findlay, Lenoir-Rhyne, and Wingate all in the past 2 months. He is a dual-threat quarterback that is electric with the ball in his hands. When I observed him, he had a strong arm, very good accuracy, and really good technique during the drills I observed.
Dymere Edwards Dymere Edwards 6'4" | 225 lbs | QB Cox Mill | 2023 State NC – QB – Cox Mill – Class of 2023 – Dymere has impressive size at 6’4 and 227 pounds. He will get a chance to create more film after moving to Cox Mill HS from Chambers HS, and that is when I expect his recruiting will take off after a few games in the upcoming season. Dymere has a very strong arm and can move well – especially for his size – but he is more of a pocket quarterback in my opinion.
Gregory Fee – QB – Weddington – Class of 2025 – I knew a little bit about Gregory coming into this, but to be so young he has a great presence about him. He stands tall with great over-the-top delivery and a strong arm. He will have a little bit of time before he has to worry about his recruiting really taking off, but he’s going to be one to watch over the next couple of years, especially coming from a great program with a strong tradition.
Jerome Blakeney – ATH – AL Brown – Class of 2023 – Jerome participated at QB during Camp LIT, but what impressed me about him was during the agility drills, he definitely is a strong dual-threat player at the QB position – and probably is a better runner. Looking at his highlight film, he primarily played WR and CB last season, so it will be interesting to see how he looks on film throwing the football as a QB, but I could see him as a dynamic threat all over the field at the next level.
Curtis Clark – RB – Mallard Creek – Class of 2025 – I have seen Curtis up close a couple of times, and he possesses home-run speed – he was hand-timed with a 4.6 40-yard dash as a reflection of that. As Curtis grows into his body, it will be fun to see his career progress. I think he can be used out of the backfield and in the slot as well with his skill set.
