D’Mon Marable D’Mon Marable D’Mon Marable 6'1" | 195 lbs | DB Clinton | 2024 State TN had a dominant defensive performance in week 2 with 16 total tackles and 5.5 of those being for loss. He scored a touchdown on a fumble recovery. His instincts stood out for the entire game, shooting into the backfield to make big tackles for loss. Marable displayed amazing physical toughness and took great angles to the point of attack. Overall, his mental processing of run concepts and feel for the game was the biggest standout.

Recently taking himself off the market by giving his commitment to Purdue, Marable is a hard hitter at safety that brings the kind of athleticism and versatility that could be utilized in many ways on defense. The first thing you notice when watching over his film is his explosion. Marable doesn’t hesitate when diagnosing the play as he explodes quickly towards the ball then finishes with controlled violence. This East Tennessee prospect has the unique athleticism at safety to make plays against the pass while also moving up to the line, helping stop the run. Marable shows ball hawk traits on film, so his interception numbers could double once he reaches the college ranks. Purdue is getting a steal with this guy and someone that could compete for early playing time the moment he arrives on campus.

Scouting Report: Marable had one of the more productive season’s last year among all defensive backs as a junior, which has now placed him within the top recruits in Tennessee for his position and currently one of the hottest recruits in the state. Sporting athleticism, length and nice size, Marable has all the physical traits that collegiate coaches look for on defense and someone that is just scratching the surface of his potential. This dude is simply a playmaker that has a nose for the ball and a knack for making big plays when they are needed. Those abilities shined bright last year as a junior and I expect bigger numbers and play this season as Marable could work his way into contention for Mr. Football. A big reason for that statement above is because Marable has the kind of athleticism that he just needs to be on the field and you can bet he will find a way to make a play on the ball. The Dragons stud safety is excellent versus the run, showing the ability to meet the running back before he breaks containment while also landing massive hits due to his physical nature. Marable will lay you out and you will feel it as this East Tennessee defensive back plays fast and hard with an active, non-stop motor. He is also quite good at playing the pass as well. Marable uses his instincts to read the quarterback then track down the ball to either intercept it or break up the pass on a consistent basis. He does need to keep developing his overall range and skill set against the pass but you can definitely see the upside. Some schools are recruiting Marable to play that hybrid linebacker/safety role due to his athleticism, physicality and size. Coaches are seeing the same thing I am and that’s a playmaker that just needs to be on the field as he will always tend to find himself making a big play for you one way or another.College Projection: Power Five, D1, FCS
