From Blue Ridge to Valdosta and all in between, the 2024 class is incredibly deep, and the best of the best in Georgia happen to be some of the top prospects across the country.
After releasing the latest 2024 rankings in Georgia, here are the prospects who came out on top…
Sammy Brown Sammy Brown 6'2" | 225 lbs | ATH Jefferson | 2024 State GA – LB/RB – Jefferson
Easily one of the top overall athletes in the country, regardless of class, Brown is an elite LB/RB at 6-foot-2 220-pounds who knows how to run and hit. He was unstoppable last year as a sophomore but a serious injury just six games into the season stopped what could’ve been a record-breaking season. A hard-hitting linebacker with size and speed, Brown is a true playmaker with great instincts and physicality. He can disrupt a play before it happens and knows how to make plays in the backfield. He’s a track star and weight room warrior for the Jefferson Dragons as he ran a 10.7 in the 100m earlier this spring and continues to add muscle in the weight room. Brown claims a 350-pound bench press, a 500-pound squat, and a 375-pound power clean. In just 6 gamed last fall, Brown rushed for 753 yards and 11 touchdowns, and he didn’t even play the full amount of those games due to the game being in hand early on. Defensively, Brown made 35 tackles, one sack, and one fumble recovery. His elite blend of size, speed, toughness, and athleticism make him the new No. 1 player in Georgia in the 2024 class.

KJ Bolden KJ Bolden 6'1" | 185 lbs | WR Buford | 2024 State GA – WR/DB – Buford
Coming in at No. 2 in the latest 2024 Georgia rankings is one of the top two-way prospects in the country for his class. Bolden is an elite playmaker with 5-star potential, and he showed it last year as a sophomore for the state-champion Buford Wolves. Not only does he have plenty of size for both positions at 6-foot-2 180-pound, but he has track-star speed and explosiveness as well. He’s a smooth route runner as a receiver and can create separation on his own. When he has the ball, he has a 2nd gear that allows him to run by defenders down the field. Defensively, he closes well when the ball is in the air and does a great job of breaking passes up. His size, quickness, and length make it hard for receivers to make plays when he’s in the area. He plays at a different level, and it’s led to offers from just about every major program in the country. Whether he’s a receiver or defensive back at the next level, Bolden is sure to make an early impact at the collegiate level. Look for him to be a go-to player for the Wolves this fall, who are attempting to win their 3rd-consecutive state championship.
TA Cunningham – EDGE – Johns Creek
Ranked as the No. 3 prospect in Georgia in the newest rankings update, Cunningham is a metro-Atlanta EDGE defender who knows how to get to the quarterback. The 6-foot-5 260-pounder may not have lit up the stat sheet last year, but make no mistake, as a sophomore, Cunningham has made 51 total tackles, 13 TFLs, and three sacks. He has an ideal frame for a young defensive lineman and shows natural athleticism, allowing him to dominate older players. Cunningham is hard to miss, and from a physical standpoint, it’s easy to see why he already holds offers from some of the top college programs in the country. He’s got long arms, making him so tough to block for opposing linemen. He’s a force on the edge who can collapse an entire side of the line. The Johns Creek standout was impressive at the Atlanta Under Armour camp back in March, and showed quickness off the snap. He holds early offers from Texas, Georgia, Auburn, among others. Expect him to dominate once again and have QBs running for their life later this fall.
Daniel Calhoun Daniel Calhoun 6'5" | 330 lbs | OL Walton | 2024 State GA – Centennial
Coming in at No. 4 overall in the state of Georgia and the No. 1 offensive tackle prospect, Daniel is a mammoth tackle prospect with power and size. Physically, it’s hard to find another tackle in the 2024 class who looks better than Calhoun. The young Roswell native already looks like a D1 offensive lineman thanks to his gigantic 6-foot-5 340-pound frame. He’s huge, more more importantly, he’s strong and moves well for his size. The big man has impressive footwork for his size and has exceptional lower-body strength. He’s an absolute mauler in the run game, making him a possible interior guard at the next level. He holds the edge and can overpower opposing edge defenders due to his size and raw power, and as he continues to develop as a pass-protector, Calhoun could push for 5-star status down the road in the 2024 class. He currently holds offers from Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Ohio State, among others.
