There is great value in these camps; the information and firsthand experience the players and coaches receive will stick with them through the summer into next season. All of the drills, and all of the preparation is for the fall. When the 2022 season starts these players will be more than ready for the challenges that are waiting for them. In this article we will take a look at four defensive players looking to make an impact on their teams this season.
Maddox Medlin #12
OLB/MLB
Mena High School
Maddox Medlin is a gritty, hardworking linebacker who is the example of, “play until you hear the whistle.” Medlin loves contact and makes really good tackles. He has a knack for making plays and is a nuisance to opposing offenses. While playing some time at QB, and is very serviceable as such, he lights it up when on defense. Maddox seeks contact, loves contact, and is very good at the fundamentals of tackling. Medlin as well has great ball instincts. Maddox looks to help take this Mena defense to the next level.
Isaac Wallis #34
DE
Southside High School
Isaac Wallis is a disruptor and wreaks havoc on opposing offenses. He is quick off the ball, he has a powerful first step, and makes tackles every which way possible. Wallis is 6’3″ 200lbs and has a 4.8 40-yard dash. His 31.8″ vertical makes him dangerous when rushing the passer as well. Isaac has great hands when rushing and displays pure power. Wallis ranked third in all of Arkansas high school football in sacks, which means that he is on the radar of other teams. I’m sure Isaac is up to the challenge. Look for Wallis to take a big leap forward and help take Southside High School to new heights in 2022.
Gunner Casebolt #21
MLB
Elkins High School
Gunner Casebolt, besides having an incredible name, is a force on the football field. Playing middle linebacker is not easy, essentially the defense runs through you. Gunner has an almost unstoppable first step and follows that with great lateral movement. Casebolt stands at 5’11″ 190lbs and he runs a 4.7 40-yard dash. Gunner has long arms, which help him when tackling, and he is a solid tackler. Casebolt looks to be a major piece of the Elkins defense in the 2022 season.
Ryan White Ryan White 5'10" | 190 lbs | LB Little Rock Mills | 2024 State AR #9
Linebacker
Wilbur D. Mills University Studies High School
Ryan White Ryan White 5'10" | 190 lbs | LB Little Rock Mills | 2024 State AR is nasty. He doesn’t let up on any play, his motor is endless. White has great ball instincts, solid lateral movement, and is great at chasing down the offensive player. At 5’10″ 190lbs, Ryan gets off the ball fast. He displays solid tackling ability, as well as being decent in the passing coverage aspect. Ryan is a player that other teams are going to have to gameplan for. White’s hard work will hopefully payoff, as he is looking to be a key component to the Mills U defense this season in 2022.
