Prep Redzone All-Winter Defense

Because I’ll be absent for the next few months, I think it’s a great time to mention my All-Winter offseason team! I’ve watched a LOT of football this winter, and I saw dozens of athletes putting in the work this offseason. On the defensive side of the ball, I saw many players outperform expectations, receive offers, MVPs, you name it. Here is my 1st team All-Winter Defense! <strong>DB: [player_tooltip player_id="251945" first="Ty" last="Hudkins"]</strong> Hudkins has had a phenomenal offseason and was far and away our DB MVP at the Prospect Showcase. He has fantastic fundamentals and can lock down any receiver in the state. Hudkins deserves more attention from colleges. <strong>DB: [player_tooltip player_id="255368" first="Ma’Leik" last="Tramble"]</strong> Extremely active on Twitter, [player_tooltip player_id="255368" first="Ma’Leik" last="Tramble"] has been extremely busy, improving every day. He was among the best DBs at the prospect showcase and is gearing up for a breakout 2022 season. <strong>DB: [player_tooltip player_id="253268" first="Desman" last="Stephens II"]</strong> Stephens II has had an awesome offseason, and May is looking like one of his best months yet. He has Power 5 Potential, and I’m confident he’ll have a sensational season playing some extremely talented teams in the OAA Red. <strong>LB: [player_tooltip player_id="275079" first="Anthony" last="Lomakoski"] </strong> I feel bad for any team facing Romeo’s defense, and Lomakoski is right smack in the middle at MLB. He won LB MVP for Legacy’s Spring College Showcase and has been putting up insane numbers in the weight room. <strong>LB: [player_tooltip player_id="30334" first="Brayden" last="Courser"] </strong> Another one of the best-performing LBs at the Prospect Showcase, [player_tooltip player_id="30334" first="Brayden" last="Courser"], is continuing to prove why he was selected first-team all-state in 2021. He’s been swamped, attending some great camps, and has recently received an offer from Grand Valley State. <strong>LB: [player_tooltip player_id="274194" first="Nick" last="Waszczenko"]</strong> As I mentioned in April’s Linebacker Talent at the Showcase Article, [player_tooltip player_id="274194" first="Nick" last="Waszczenko"] has been covered by many media outlets, been a beast in the weight room, and has done his fair share of college visits. He looked great at the Prospect Showcase, and he’ll be among the best linebackers in the OAA Red this Fall. <strong>LB: [player_tooltip player_id="247683" first="Cailin" last="Scott"]</strong> The Prospect Showcase LB MVP, [player_tooltip player_id="247683" first="Cailin" last="Scott"], is one heck of a emerging talent out of Harper Woods. With an offer from Eastern Kentucky, it seems the long offseason hours are beginning to pay off. If he never lets his foot off the gas, [player_tooltip player_id="247683" first="Cailin" last="Scott"] has incredible potential. <strong>DL: [player_tooltip player_id="80954" first="Brandon" last="Davis-Swain"] </strong> One of the best athletes in the state, Davis-Swain, has been working his tail off this Winter and has recently committed to Notre Dame. He’s well-traveled, attends many camps, and is very well feared in the OAA Red. <strong>DL: [player_tooltip player_id="248814" first="Anthony" last="Wright"]</strong> Gaining attention from our National Director of Scouting, [player_tooltip player_id="248814" first="Anthony" last="Wright"] has had an ideal offseason performing well at every camp he’s been to, having also received an offer from Central Michigan. Chippewa Valley is a highly talented team, and [player_tooltip player_id="248814" first="Anthony" last="Wright"] should have a fantastic season with some college looks. <strong>DL: [player_tooltip player_id="30349" first="Royce" last="Daugherty"]</strong> I didn’t know much about Royce until the Prospect Showcase, but he won DL MVP and immediately received an offer from Lawrence Tech following his performance. He also won DL MVP at Legacy’s College Showcase! I feel that the LTU offer is just the beginning for [player_tooltip player_id="30349" first="Royce" last="Daugherty"]. <strong>DL: [player_tooltip player_id="80935" first="Tyler" last="Dosh"] </strong> An OLB/EDGE type, [player_tooltip player_id="80935" first="Tyler" last="Dosh"] is a superstar playing a unique position. He performed exceptionally well as a LB and DE at the Prospect Showcase, being the best EDGE rusher in the building. He has a vast arsenal of moves on the defensive line, and I feel that offers should be coming soon.
