Housing only four teams, this league packs a punch with college talent on every team and multiple State Championship contenders. In this article, I’ll be highlighting the biggest offensive mismatches for every team in the Central!
De La Salle – Brendan Dignan – T/G
A lesser talked-about De La Salle prospect, Brendan Dignan, is a 6’6 monster heading the Pilot line. Facing some top-talent last season, Dignan was great but not yet elite. But his sheer size and power, along with the expectation of improvement heading into his senior season, make for a major mismatch for opposing defensive lines. There’s some good DL talent in the Catholic Central, but Dignan will be nearly impossible to get past.
Catholic Central – Spencer Lyons Spencer Lyons 6'2" | 215 lbs | ATH Catholic Central | 2023 MI – RB
Lyons is just a straight-up solid running back that brings excellent balance to the CC offense. Great speed with an 11.5 100M and a few offers from Army and Navy, Lyons is bound to make some noise. On paper, Catholic Central seems to have the best defense in the league, and Lyons will make sure they have one of the best offenses. If Lyons comes out stronger, look out.
Brother Rice – Henry Garrity Henry Garrity 6'4" | 205 lbs | TE Brother Rice | 2023 State MI – TE
A great TE with a great coaching staff is an absolute game-breaker. Henry Garrity Henry Garrity 6'4" | 205 lbs | TE Brother Rice | 2023 State MI is a 6’4 beast with a balanced game. He has a tremendous amount of blocking highlights and receiving, making him a player any high school would love to have. Already with a few great offers, Garrity is a Division 1 talent with a ton ahead of him.
St. Mary’s – Brayden Ledin – QB
Ledin has been wildly impressive this offseason, and I have a great feeling about this coming season for him. He has very few weaknesses and a ton of strengths, as he’s ahead of the curve when it comes to IQ and ball placement. He makes the correct reads and can deliver darts. Ledin will be put to the test in a league full of defensive talent, but if he succeeds, he’ll gain massive attention.
