After the most recent football camps held in Louisville, my mind continues to be amazed at how stacked the Louisville Kentucky region is with football talent! My most recent pitstop was to Elizabethtown Kentucky to attend the annual VTO Sports Elite 100 Louisville camp. I was immediately astonished by the depth of talent that this camp had to offer. The talent depth was equally distributive between most of the positions held at the camp. Although every player at the camp immediately exceeded my expectations of the talent depth going into the camp, there are only so many players VTO Sports can award their top camp performers for each position. Today, I am going to recap the play of the top performers, along with naming some players that I thought were top performers. Fastest Man Award and Defensive Back top Performer [player_tooltip player_id="244413" first="Langdon" last="Holbrook"] DB | 5-8, 170 lbs. Class of 2024. | Scottsburg High School | Austin, IN | Twitter: Langdon ran a 4.50 40 yd dash at the camp, naming him the Fastest Man. Langdon’s speed and agility are what sets him apart from all the other DBs at camp. The sophomore impressed me and the camp coaches when clamping up the receivers on 1v1’s, even the receivers who were 2-3 inches taller than him. Since Langdon is also a wide receiver, he plays Nickelback like a receiver, mirroring the receiver’s moves, which enables him to not give his opposing receiver any space for him to catch the football. Langdon is an artist of his craft and being able to play on both sides of the football truly displays his football talent. Strongest Man Award Larron Childers DE | 6-1, 225lbs. Class of 2024. | Springs Valley Community High School | French Lick, IN | Twitter: Larron Childers was awarded the strongest man award after benching 23 reps off 185lbs. The sophomore also displayed his incredible strength when running drills against the offensive tackles. Larron’s speed off the line and strength give him momentum to push off even the biggest offensive tackles at the camp with ease. Looking forward to seeing what the future has for Larron as he will be going into his junior season for Springs Valley. Top Middle School Performers Logan Fodge RB | Class of 2026. | Boonville High School | Chandler, IN | Although with a short range of running backs at the camp, Logan still showed high promise as he was named one of the two top middle school performers. The 2026 upcoming freshman has lots of potential since he can already compete with all the other high school kids at camp and still put up a good performance. Jackson Davis TE | Class of 2027. | Oldham County High School | Crestwood, KY | Jackson Davis was handed the other top middle school performer of the camp alongside 2026 RB Logan Fodge. Jackson still has another year of middle school left before he heads up to OCHS for his freshman season. Like Logan, Jackson proved that he belonged at the camp with his strength and physicality that matched many of the high school players attending. Looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Jackson. Defensive Line Top Performer Luke Scott DE | Class of 2023. | Daniel Boone High School | Johnson City, TN | Luke was awarded DLine top performer over his pure dominance playing edge rusher. Luke outshined the other Dlinemen with his speed and strength off the line of scrimmage. Once the ball is snapped, Luke rips off the opposing offensive lineman with little difficulty, and his speed off enables him to get the quarterback quicker than most edge rushers. Although the camp housed plenty of defensive linemen talent, Luke’s pure dominance over all the opposing tackles was no match for the other top Dline candidates. The junior proved that there is plenty of talent outside of the bluegrass state as he traveled from Johnson City Tennessee to attend this camp. Luke still has a year left of high school so I expect him to have a dominant senior season at Daniel Boone High School. Offensive Line Top Performer Aiden Howard OT | 6-5, 240lbs. Class of 2024. | Madison Central High School | Richmond, KY | Twitter: Aiden has proven multiple times to be one of the more recent notable offensive tackle prospects in Kentucky. I got to see Aiden at the Football University camp series in Lexington and he won camp MVP for his incredible performance. At the VTO camp in Louisville, Aiden proved again why he deserves to be a top tackle prospect racking up offensive line MVP. What is consistent with Aiden’s game is the highly impressive footwork that gives him the stability to stay strong when attempting to block incoming blockers and defensive tackles. Along with his footwork are his brute physique and strength. One underrated trait of Aiden is his toughness. Playing an offensive tackle is not easy and he got hit hard in camp and temporarily got banged up. However, he came back better than before. That alone makes him one of my favorite players at the camp. Wide Receiver Top Performer [player_tooltip player_id="322437" first="Jace" last="Hurd"] WR | 5-10, 150lbs. Class of 2024. | Avon High School | Avon, IN | Twitter: Jace was awarded the wide receiver top performer for his extremely impressive play. The sophomore’s agility and speed are what stood out to me as his unbelievably quick footwork enables him to make sharp slants in an instant. Along with that, Jace’s hands are like glue and can make difficult catches even with difficult angles. Although other receivers held incredible performances as well, Jace’s performance was just at another level than most of the other receivers. The best part is that there is plenty of time for Jace to improve on his game as he has 2 years of high school football left. Excited to see what this kid has in store in the future. Linebacker Top Performer Dahvon Frazier LB | 6-1, 195 lbs. Class of 2024. | Bryan Station High School | Lexington, KY | Twitter: Dahvon took home the camp’s top performer for linebackers and let me just say this kid is special. For being a linebacker, this kid is unbelievably athletic and is strong enough to play Dline and quick enough to play DB. Those 2 traits balance perfectly for him in the LB position. The sophomore has great pass coverage and can also put pressure off a blitz with his brute-like strength and speed to get to the quarterback. He even took some reps in the edge rusher drills at the camp! I personally like this kid for his ability to be utilized not just as a linebacker but just as an overall talented football player. Along with many other kids at this camp, Dahvon has time to develop his game in other positions if he likes, and the utilization of his strengths will only provide more value for colleges to have an interest in him. Tight End Top Performer Hayes Preston TE | 6-2, 220lbs. Class of 2025. | Lexington Christian Academy High School | Lexington, KY | Twitter: Hayes was awarded as the tight end top performer as his strength and catching ability impressed all the coaches including myself. Although only being a freshman, Hayes’s playstyle is similar to a 4-year varsity starting tight end. Since he played as an offensive tackle back at LCA, his ability to block off opposing rushers is solid which adding to his skills at route running makes him a dominant tight end option for any team. What is exciting is that Hayes has plenty of time to further develop his game and I believe his talent is going to only increase from here. Quarterback Top Performer [player_tooltip player_id="325856" first="Bohde" last="Dickerson"] QB | 6-4, 200lbs. Class of 2023. | North Side High School | Fort Wayne, IN | Twitter: Bohde immediately caught my eye when watching him at the camp. The 6-4 junior was awarded the top-performing quarterback at the camp as his passing accuracy and arm strength was the main determinant of this award. Not only did Bohde possess solid footwork and throwing form, but he inherits a beautiful spiral and consistently makes good throws at the right spots to his receivers. Not even in one of the drills but on the side waiting for his next rep, I watched Bohde casually throw a 70-yard pass to one of the other receivers who were waiting as well. I am sure there are plenty of talented quarterbacks who can throw the football pretty far however it was unique how Bohde completed a throw that far with little difficulty. The arm strength on this kid is insane and I expect only bright things to go his way shortly. Running Back Top Performer Ali Hamdiyah RB | 5-10, 175lbs. Class of 2025. | Scott County High School | Georgetown, KY | Twitter: While watching Ali take the running back top performer award at camp, I noticed what stood out the most about his game is his fantastic footwork. Although his speed and acceleration help him move quickly when making quick jabs and cuts, his footwork is what enables him to stay up on the ground strong and build up strength to run over opposing defenders. That type of footwork is what you would see from running backs who focus on taking hits and forcing opposing defenders to continuously miss tackles. Ali is also another freshman top performer and has lots of time left in the tank for him to further develop his overall talent as a running back for Scott County High School. Honorable Mentions for Top Performances in Camp Toby Cercone DT | Class of 2023 | South Oldham High School | Crestwood, KY | [player_tooltip player_id="327900" first="Khalil" last="Rogers"] WR | Class of 2023 | Owensboro High School | Owensboro, KY | Tionne Gray TE | Class of 2024 | Cardinal Ritter College Preparatory | Saint Louis, MO | Carter Campbell DE | Class of 2023 | Notre Dame High School | Portsmouth, OH | Traevon Berry WR | Class of 2024 | Paul Laurence Dunbar High School | Lexington, KY | Drew Nieves WR | Class of 2023 | Lexington Christian Academy High School | Lexington, KY | [player_tooltip player_id="306939" first="Benjamin" last="Brasher"] OT | Class of 2025 | Evansville North High School | Evansville, IN |
