Prep Redzone was present at this past weekend’s Philly’s Finest 7v7 Tournament of Champions in Coatesville, PA, where some absolutely stellar talent took to the field. Talent came in from everywhere, showing just how far Philly’s Finest has come in the 7v7 circuit. The well-run camp and organization is an annual must for scouts such as myself. Connecticut and New Jersey were represented at the event along with numerous Pennsylvania programs. In this piece, we will breakdown some new names out of the Tribe and Prolific Elite programs that caught my eye from Day one. Tribe [player_tooltip player_id="164523" first="James" last="McCoy"] | 5’10, 170 | LB/RB | Souderton | 2024 Danny Dyches | 6’4, 175 | WR/S | Souderton | 2024 [player_tooltip player_id="249021" first="Shaun" last="Purvy"] | CB/WR | Souderton | 2023 Here’s a group out of Souderton without tremendous numbers as a whole. Despite the fact, Tribe Football continues to compete hard at each 7v7 event I see them represented at. Not hard to compete when you have these three studs on your side. I was excited to finally see [player_tooltip player_id="249021" first="Shaun" last="Purvy"] up close, a legit top junior in the state who doesn’t receive the recognition that he should. Purvy’s performance reminded me of his Fall tape, play maker on both sides of the ball who is seemingly productive, as well as disruptive, anywhere you need him to be. Danny Dyches is a name that slipped through the cracks initially. After seeing this kid ball live, as well as a quick peek at his tape, I can say with certainty that his name won’t go unnoticed on our site any longer. Awesome high-point ability. He’s every bit of 6’4. Carries a slight frame that isn’t poorly affected by physicality. More than a tall weapon, Dyches is smooth with the ball in his hands. Shows body control in goal-line situations as well as near the sideline. Can’t wait to cover this combo at a Soudy game this Fall. https://twitter.com/DychesDanny/status/1518425662297677825?s=20&t=RC_Z4lay94wOUjZojfHTpg [player_tooltip player_id="164523" first="James" last="McCoy"] isn’t necessarily the type of player I would have thought to play well in a 7v7 setting. Turns out the kid can cover and run from his linebacker spot just as well as he can pursue the football with pads on. We know of McCoy’s abilities from his tape, happy to see him move well at this event. Prolific Elite [player_tooltip player_id="248851" first="Owen" last="Strouse"] | 6’2, 190 | QB | Dallastown Area | 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="91729" first="Andrew" last="Osmun"] | 6’1, 205 | QB/WR/DB | Spring Grove | 2023 Amir Jones | 6’2, 190 | DB | Harrisburg | 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="127244" first="Jaire" last="Rawlison"] | 5’10, 170 | DB/WR | Bishop McDevitt | 2024 Beginning with [player_tooltip player_id="127244" first="Jaire" last="Rawlison"]. The site knows of my Rawlison fandom, I will promote the kid’s stellar play until his play shows otherwise. Competitive in every way, rep, setting. This kid is on a war path to prove himself. Incredible competitor, Rawlison’s DB performance was nothing new, dominant. Most intriguing part of the junior’s performance was what he was able to do on offense. The shutdown corner flashed awesome ability to transition from catch to run, as if he’s polished on that side of the ball. Hard to not be excited about his overall athleticism. https://twitter.com/OfficialJaire/status/1518401152957796354?s=20&t=RC_Z4lay94wOUjZojfHTpg Amir Jones joins Danny Dyches as another prospect that we are completely whiffing on. Missing on players like this early on proves why making it out to these events are essential. Elite DB/S skills and range. Certainly a top 100 player in his class, might be closer to the top 50 range once we get to really dive into his film. He was a force at this event. Consistent in every facet of his game. Was very pleased with [player_tooltip player_id="91729" first="Andrew" last="Osmun"]’s performance. Again, I don’t expect incredible hands and play-making ability out of linebackers/safeties in this setting. I focus on how well you can read-react to concepts and how well you can move in and out of zones. Communication is another area of emphasis for LBers/Safeties at 7v7’s. Osmun checked every box from my point of view. Osmun is a pleasure to watch on Friday nights, happy to see him accept this challenge of covering some of the state’s best athletes. Missed an opportunity to see [player_tooltip player_id="87844" first="Kenny" last="Johnson"] and [player_tooltip player_id="248851" first="Owen" last="Strouse"], Dallastown Area HS duo, compete together in this setting. I still got a chance to see Owen’s decision making and delivery up close and personal. Fan of this kid as a total package. His play at this event is far from the end-all be-all, I still came away pleased with his quick release, tall stature and accuracy in the short-intermediate game. Looking forward to seeing more from this young man. PA Swag [player_tooltip player_id="320980" first="Spencer" last="Kishbaugh"] | 6’3, 200 | LB/WR | Berwick | 2023 Not sure if there was a more physically impressive prospect at the 7v7. I was somewhat familiar with Kishbaugh’s game beforehand. His overall presence was noticeable on offense, where the young man looked closer to 6’5, 225, rather than 6’3, 200. Outstanding catch radius. Smooth off the line of scrimmage. Was the definition of standout-performer despite Swag not playing as well as they would have liked. [player_tooltip player_id="248649" first="Ryan" last="Wilson"] | 6’1, 195 | DB/LB | Archbishop Wood | 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="248649" first="Ryan" last="Wilson"], one of my personal favorite prospects, was his usual best at defensive back. Instinctive is a word often used when evaluating linebackers, but the word can be used to describe Wilson’s game especially in this setting. Shows a great understanding of passing concepts, making him one of the more trustworthy DBs at this tournament. [player_tooltip player_id="160599" first="Ryder" last="Zulkowski"] | 6’3, 185 | WR/DB | Archbishop Wood | 2023 Here’s a player that we are certainly not high enough on. Awesome height while looking every bit of his listed 185 pounds. Any and all reps I saw out of Zulkowski were on the offensive side of the football, yet his film will show some quality DB work as well. Happy to see him produce in this setting.
