We wanted to preview three of the most productive WRs in 6A, heading into 2020. Each of these players has their own unique play-style, and look to continue there successes this upcoming season. [player_tooltip player_id="20194" first="Dominic" last="Lovett"] (East St. Louis HS)- Good height and solid weight, trim, athletic, proportioned with some definition. Very good acceleration off the snap vs. Zone, Press, and Off. Shows very good foot quickness, and can beat any one on one coverage clean, just with his speed alone. He maintains his speed through his stem, and has a second gear coming out of break. Good route runner, uses subtle movements to set up break and create separation from defenders. He shows the ability to attack all areas of the field. Very good body control and tracking ability when the ball is in the air, can contort and alter speeds in order to receive the ball in stride. Post-catch very good running ability, gains a lot of YAC from his foot quickness, but also shows solid play strength in order to elude arm tackles. He’s tough in the open field, and is looking to score from any area of the field, each time he touches the ball. Overall, he is a top notch talent who has the ability to play inside or outside. He will have a chance to become a very special player at the next level. Keantez Lewis (East St. Louis HS)- Good height and weight, trim, slender, proportioned with some definition. Good acceleration off the snap, can consistently beat Press, Off, or Zone coverage. Good foot quickness through stem and into the top of route. He gets a second gear once he is even or a step in front of the DB. Good route runner, uses good footwork and body control, along with acceleration when coming out of breaks to create separation. Very good tracking ability when the ball is in the air, and can contort to make adjustments. Displayed very good high pointing ability, can absorb contact from defender and come down with the ball. Hands catcher, snatches the ball and has good transition. Very good post-catch ability with foot quickness and physicality in order to gain a lot of YAC. He shows home run potential from anywhere on the field. Overall, a very good prospect who can play inside or out at the next level. He is going to be very productive at the next level. Taidhgin Trost (Prairie Ridge HS)- Solid height and weight, slender, proportioned with little definition. Shows good vision, and running ability in the open field. Good acceleration through holes, and enough play strength to run through arm tackles. Good physicality at the POA, and is a tough tackle in the open field. Solid hands, displayed the ability to high point and snatch the football. He was used as a scatback/WR, and he played mainly from a wing position. Coming out of this offense, he will need to develop as a route runner, as his future at the next level is going to be as a slot WR. He has the WR traits available to him, but it will take some time to continue to develop them.
