The quarterback position is not the easiest position to play. You need, vision, IQ, leadership skills, the arm power and accuracy, and it requires a high level of play because you are the general of the team. Their are quarterbacks in Texas that have proven themselves to be the cream of the crop. They have demonstrated this by showing their skills on the gridiron and not only helped their teams win games, but have set themselves apart in doing so! These young men have made phenomenal next level throws, put up next level numbers, and plays with GRIT in the game! Let’s dive in and take a look at some of the best quarterbacks in the state.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="60713" first="Cade" last="Klubnik"]- 6’2 185Ibs/QB/ Austin Westlake High School</strong>
Analysis: Klubnik, a Clemson commit has proven to the nation why he deserves to be number one. He has shown improvement in his mechanics and fundamentals when he throws the football. He does an excellent job at staying in the pocket and delivering rockets. This young man also goes through his progressions very well. He is also a good athlete in the open field and can hurt you either running or passing. He also competed in track and field running the 400 meters, and competing in the long jump and triple jump! Klubnik is a quarterback that can go far if he keeps up his elite level of play as well. He led Westlake to a state title as well. He was also the Texas District 26-6A Offensive MVP; MaxPreps first-team Junior All-American and was named the TSWA Class 6A Offensive Player of the Year!

Weigman is a multi-sport athlete who is also one of the top baseball prospects in Texas 2021. Also, he was the Texas District 16-6A Offensive MVP as a senior and was named the Houston Touchdown Club Offensive Player of the Year. Weigman was also named the National High School Quarterback of the Year by the National Quarterback Club. In 2020, [player_tooltip player_id="60702" first="Conner" last="Weigman"] was named the District 16-6A Offensive Player of the Year as a junior and in 2019, he was the Texas District 14-6A Offensive Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore. He has an extremely powerful arm as well and has homerun speed as well! Finally he almost had 9,000 yards passing and over 2,000 yards rushing! Keep an eye our for him going forward!

He is the number 27 ranked player in Texas and number 9 overall at the quarterback position in the nation! His junior year, he was named 1st Team All-District in district 6-6A. He is a very accurate thrower and has a cannon as well. Evers is a mobile playmaker as well, which is why you must contain him in the pocket. [player_tooltip player_id="60751" first="Nick" last="Evers"] has really good speed too. This young man can make tight throws as well. He has a very bright future ahead of him!

Analysis: [player_tooltip player_id="60767" first="Garret" last="Rangel"] is another quarterback to not be taken lightly in the future. He is currently ranked number 22 in the nation at the quarterback position, and number 57 overall in the state of Texas. In 2020, he was named Texas District 5-5A D-I and was the Offensive MVP as a junior. Rangel led Frisco Lone Star to a 7-4 record and a Texas 5A D-I third-round playoff appearance. In 2019, Rangel was named the Texas District 5-5A D-I Offensive Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore. He also led Frisco Lone Star to a 14-1 record and a Texas 5A D-I state semifinal appearance. He has a quick release with a powerful arm. Even though he is a bit underweight, he still has the build to be a premier division I quarterback! He delivers accurate tight throws, possesses great footwork and composure, and can extend plays at any given moment. He is a Mississippi state commit and has shown the skill set necessary to compete at the Division I level. He is currently ranked number 24 in the nation at the quarterback position, and number 56 in overall in Texas. This young man has an excellent arm. His throws are accurate and come at you with high velocity! He can make plays with his legs as well. Locke has shown great poise and footwork in the pocket as well. He has good strength and speed as well. Locke goes through his progressions well too which allows him to target many open receivers! He was the Texas District 10-6A Overall MVP as a junior in 2020 and led Rockwall to a 10-2 record and a Texas 6A D-I second round playoff appearance.
