Contreras is a flat out gamer as the 5’11” quarterback does whatever he has to for his team. He has a bit of a sling shot release delivery. Accurate over the middle fitting passes in tight spaces. Anticipates well throwing his receivers open. Elusive in the pocket getting away from pressure giving his pass catchers time to come back and find open grass. Create runner in the open field when he tucks it and runs on his own. Can really put zip on intermediate passes when he needs to.

One word can be used to best describe the game of the sophomore signal caller from Hinsdale Central: gunslinger. With the ability to throw it deep off his back foot and throw accurately on the run, the 5’11, 190 lbs quarterback can make some impressive passes. His ability to avoid pressure in the pocket, scramble while keeping his eyes downhill, and deliver a strike is second to none. And this doesn’t just apply to short or intermediate throws, as Contreras isn’t afraid to let it rip vertically for some jaw-dropping throws. Long story short, there isn’t a pass on the field that Contreras can’t hit, regardless of the situation or distance. Keep an eye on this rising star in Contreras as he prepares for his junior campaign.

The Hinsdale Central freshman gunslinger boasts a broad and impressive resume going into his sophomore season of high school, having finished the season with three starts against varsity opponents, two games of which game against ranked opponents of then #4 ranked York and then later against a loaded Glenbard West squad. The third game was against Proviso West, which Contreras led to a 46-6 win. The 5’11, 175 lber. also has made some waves this offseason running with Midwest Boom’s 15U squad, but interestingly as a WR and Safety, so it’s safe to say the kid is athletic and could possibly project to several different positions at the college level in a few years. As a freshman QB however, Contreras displayed exciting maneuverability and scrambling prowess around the pocket, velocity, accuracy, and touch on his shorter & intermediate passes, and dangerous moves as a ball carrier when he tucks and runs. There’s noticeable athleticism and arm talent in his growing 5’11, 175 lb. frame, and with varsity experience and effectiveness already under his belt, the future is very bright for the Red Devil 2026er.
