Despite the loss, Gavin showed out in the tough matchup with undefeated Stillwater. The senior quarterback finished the tight 21-28 loss with a whopping 389 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. He found great success in finding his teammates near the sideline on some deep balls and also did a fantastic job using his legs to evade pressure from the defense. White Bear Lake has had a solid season so far and will take on Anoka on the road this Friday.

Knutson has a strong, accurate arm – especially throwing intermediate routes. He can throw from the pocket but might be more dangerous on the move. He appears to be a passer who runs to buy time to throw more than runs to pick up yards but will take the yards on the ground when they are available. His touch on the short ball is already solid, and so is his ability – at least on short throws – to consistently put the ball where he wants it when under pressure.
