Top 6 RBs in the Class of 2024
In this article:
The class of 2024 in the DMV area is absolutely loaded with D1 level running back talent. All of them rush against elite defenses, which always prepares players well for the next level, and they also play against and practice with college level offensive lines every week throughout the season. Each of these prospects should be scouted very seriously because they all have the potential to thrive in the college game.
2024 5’11 205 RB – Nicholas Harris Nicholas Harris 5'11" | 205 lbs | RB St. Frances | 2024 State MD – St. Frances Academy
St. Frances’ running game was dynamic and deep in 2021, and it will be equally dominant in 2022. Nicholas Harris Nicholas Harris 5'11" | 205 lbs | RB St. Frances | 2024 State MD performed at an elite level for the Panthers all season long and, with Senior Terron Kellman Terron Kellman 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB St. Frances | 2022 State MD set to graduate this Spring, Harris could find himself in the starting role this Fall. He still has stiff competition with talented St. Frances running backs such as Durell Robinson and Dejuan Williams Dejuan Williams 5'9" | 195 lbs | RB St. Frances | 2024 State MD , however, Nicholas Harris Nicholas Harris 5'11" | 205 lbs | RB St. Frances | 2024 State MD has the potential to be the starting back right now. He’s improving with every offseason, and my prediction is that 2022 will be a huge breakout year for Nicholas Harris Nicholas Harris 5'11" | 205 lbs | RB St. Frances | 2024 State MD . Harris is already an elite D1 prospect, and he has offers from programs such as Ole Miss, Pitt, and Maryland. Scouts everywhere must keep an eye on Nicholas Harris Nicholas Harris 5'11" | 205 lbs | RB St. Frances | 2024 State MD and the Panthers’ running game in 2022.
2024 5’9 195 RB – Dejuan Williams Dejuan Williams 5'9" | 195 lbs | RB St. Frances | 2024 State MD – St. Frances Academy
Dejuan Williams Dejuan Williams 5'9" | 195 lbs | RB St. Frances | 2024 State MD is a premier running back on the St. Frances depth chart, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him take over the full-time lead role in the backfield. In 2021, he demonstrated his ability to find holes and exploit the open space regardless of where he was lined up. Williams was like a swiss-army knife last year because he was used everywhere offensively, and he thrived in the role. He has great hands, and his receiving skills only make his rush attack more dynamic. Dejuan Williams Dejuan Williams 5'9" | 195 lbs | RB St. Frances | 2024 State MD is absolutely a top 5 running back in the 2024 class, and scouts should absolutely be looking at Williams with a lot of seriousness. He has D1 power five conference potential for sure.
2024 6’0 185 RB – Dilin Jones Dilin Jones 6'0" | 175 lbs | RB Good Counsel | 2024 State MD – Good Counsel
In my opinion, Dilin Jones Dilin Jones 6'0" | 175 lbs | RB Good Counsel | 2024 State MD is the #1 overall running back prospect from the 2024 class in the DMV area. His 2021 season was absolutely electric, and his performance helped lead the Falcons to the WCAC Championship game. He earned 1st Team All-WCAC honors at the running back position, and he also already received an offer from Boston College. The Golden Eagles have a history of scouting elite young running back talent early, and I have to agree with them on this one because Dilin Jones Dilin Jones 6'0" | 175 lbs | RB Good Counsel | 2024 State MD has an insanely high ceiling as a running back. I think he will, somehow, put up even bigger numbers for Good Counsel in 2022, and my way too early prediction is that he earns 1st Team All-WCAC and a trip to the conference championship game yet again this Fall.
2024 5’11 190 RB – Da’juan Riggs Da’juan Riggs 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB St. Johns | 2024 State MD – St. John’s
Like St. Frances Academy, St. John’s is graduating a Senior running back this Spring, therefore there will be a vacant spot to compete for this Fall. Da’juan Riggs Da’juan Riggs 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB St. Johns | 2024 State MD earned 2nd Team All-WCAC honors at the running back this past season, making him a prime candidate for this position. Riggs is an extremely elusive ball carrier who is very difficult to tackle in open space. He has great vision and agility, and, as he keeps growing, his yards after contact will grow. There’s no question that Riggs will be a key part of the offense even if he does not take over the full-time role at running back. Da’juan Riggs Da’juan Riggs 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB St. Johns | 2024 State MD is a prime time D1 level talent, and I believe he will showcase that in 2022.

2024 5’10 195 RB – Cinque Blount Cinque Blount 5'11" | 215 lbs | RB St. John's | 2024 State MD – St. John’s
Cinque Blount Cinque Blount 5'11" | 215 lbs | RB St. John's | 2024 State MD is very much in the running, pun intended, for the vacant starting backfield position as well. Blount is a very powerful running back, and head coach Pat Ward utilized him a lot in red-zone situations. He is a bruising back who already racked up a ton of yards after contact, and, with time, he could become one of the premier ball carriers in the WCAC. Cinque Blount Cinque Blount 5'11" | 215 lbs | RB St. John's | 2024 State MD ’s ceiling is that high, and, even if he doesn’t become the starter this season, he will be the starter at some point down the line. Blount already has offers from D1 programs such as Lafayette College and VMI, however, there’s no doubt in my mind that those offers are the tip of the iceberg for Blount’s recruitment. Scouts must keep Cinque Blount Cinque Blount 5'11" | 215 lbs | RB St. John's | 2024 State MD on their radars.
2024 6’1 190 RB – Shamar Mcintosh Shamar Mcintosh 6'1" | 190 lbs | DB St. Johns | 2024 State MD – St. John’s
Shamar Mcintosh Shamar Mcintosh 6'1" | 190 lbs | DB St. Johns | 2024 State MD is the most effective two-way player on this list, as he also plays safety for the Cadets. However, McIntosh was so effective at running back last year that it wouldn’t be surprising if he focused solely on ball carrying this year. He clearly has a knack for finding the end-zone, and he will go through any contact to reach it. McIntosh already has power five conference offers from elite programs like Cincinnati, Maryland, and Boston College, and it really will be interesting to see how head coach Pat Ward handles this vacant running back position. Regardless of the decision, Shamar Mcintosh Shamar Mcintosh 6'1" | 190 lbs | DB St. Johns | 2024 State MD is a D1 level talent with a very high ceiling, and he will absolutely get more opportunities to prove himself to scouts in 2022. There’s no doubt that he belongs at the next level.
