Continue ReadingWe revealed Monday the updated 2022 prospect rankings. The list includes over 200 names. Here are 5 more prospects whose stock rose the fastest:
Jonathan Croker, Valencia: A year ago, Croker probably wasn’t even a blip on most people’s radar. Now he’s the ‘King of Offers’ in New Mexico with 14 offers on the table, many to prestigious academic institutions. Croker is attractive because he’s a smart, strong, physical player in the trenches. He’s a major reason Valencia was one of the pleasant surprises in Class 4A this past season. Croker is expected to announce his commitment soon.
Kaden Valdez Kaden Valdez 5'11" | 175 lbs | WR Volcano Vista | 2022 State NM , Volcano Vista: Valdez was one of the top wide receivers during the 2021 season as he amassed the most receiving yards (1,286 yards) in the state and his per game average was No. 1 as well (116.9 receiving yards per game). Together with Kieran Cordova Kieran Cordova 5'10" | 145 lbs | WR Volcano Vista | 2022 State NM , Valdez was one-half of arguably the state’s top WR duo. Somebody’s going to get a major steal with this guy.
Nathan Lopez Nathan Lopez 5'5" | 135 lbs | WR Cibola | 2022 State NM , Cibola: All the 5-foot-6 Lopez lacks is size. He possesses everything else in great quantity – speed, elusiveness, great hands (state high 88 receptions), determination and a high level of competitiveness. He routinely outfought bigger cornerbacks for the ball (and opposing wide receivers on defense). We realize many coaches are obsessed with size, but Lopez deserves an opportunity at the next level. He holds offers from Bethany College and Hastings College.
Dalton Speis Dalton Speis 6'0" | 170 lbs | WR Sandia | 2022 State NM , Sandia: The Matadors were a surprise entry in the Class 6A playoffs and Speis was a major reason why. He had 39 receptions for 658 yards and 6 TD, and amassed more than 1,000 all-purpose yards. Midway University in Kentucky has offered.
Nathan Hontanosas Nathan Hontanosas 5'6" | DL Rio Rancho | 2022 State NM , Rio Rancho: The Rams reached the Class 6A championship game largely because of an enormously productive running game led by Zach Vigil Zach Vigil 5'9" | 190 lbs | RB Rio Rancho | 2022 State NM and a stellar defensive front seven featuring Hontanosas and others. He’s a tough, physical player in the interior of the Rams D.
A little messy, but I hit my most recent max goal of 455 on deadlift. pic.twitter.com/Y3x0Kb34vC
