We have many players with multiple power-5 offers, and all of these players come from the best, most successful programs in the state. With 4 athletes from Southeast Michigan, with 2 from West Michigan, let’s check out the top 6 Athletes in the state.
#1 Khamari Anderson Khamari Anderson 6'4" | 225 lbs | ATH Cass Tech | 2023 State MI (#9 overall, Cass Tech)
Listed as a TE on most sites, Khamari Anderson Khamari Anderson 6'4" | 225 lbs | ATH Cass Tech | 2023 State MI is a unique athlete at a towering 6’4″ 225. Offensively, he’s a very polished TE. He has good release and great hands, and really knows how to use his size to his advantage in the passing game. He’s also a proven blocker. Of the defensive side of the ball, he’s among the best defensive ends in the state at he’s able to wonderfully mix power and speed into his game. Overall, Khamari Anderson Khamari Anderson 6'4" | 225 lbs | ATH Cass Tech | 2023 State MI is very deserving of the #1 athlete spot and will have the opportunity to play at a power-5 program.
#2 Jameel Croft Jameel Croft 6'1" | 165 lbs | DB Detroit King | 2023 State MI (#12 overall, Detroit King)
Croft Jr. has established himself as one of the best corners in the state, having had an amazing 2021 campaign with a big performance in the state championship. Croft’s fundamentals are some of the most polished I’ve seen, as he has no wasted steps, his footwork is very clean, and his eyes are always on the QB. He’s proven himself in both man and zone coverage, and when the ball does come his way, he makes the right decision, whether that be to go for the INT, PBU, or big hit.
#3 Davon Jackson Davon Jackson 6'3" | 195 lbs | ATH River Rouge | 2023 State MI (#25 overall, River Rouge)
Listed as a OLB/FS, Davon Jackson Davon Jackson 6'3" | 195 lbs | ATH River Rouge | 2023 State MI is a difference maker on the defensive side of the ball. He’s got the body of a defensive lineman at 6’4″ 200 and is able to be quite slippery at the line, demonstrating power and finesse, along with the ability to make some huge hits. He’s racked up many power-5 offers so far, and he’ll surely be receiving more as 2022 moves along.
#4 Mac VandenHout Mac VandenHout 5'11" | 190 lbs | QB Rockford | 2023 State MI (#33 overall, Rockford)
VandenHout is an incredibly interesting prospect out of Rockford, and one of my most anticipated athletes to watch in 2022. He’s an all-around offensive star as he’s a great QB, great WR, and has been seen running the ball at times. As a receiver, he fared wonderfully in 2021 with 364 receiving yards on 36 catches, while rushing for 149 yards on 19 attempts. I am very interested by his QB ability though. Ferris State commit Zak Ahern Zak Ahern 6'2" | 175 lbs | QB Rockford | 2022 State MI was sensational for Rockford in 2021, but the 2022 QB duties may very well be handed to VandenHout. Regardless of position, he has the tools to be an elite receiver or QB, and I’m looking forward to seeing more offseason work from him.
#5 KeWaun Farnum KeWaun Farnum 5'9" | 170 lbs | ATH Mona Shores | 2023 State MI (#36 overall, Mona Shores)
We had just highlighted Farnum as 1 of 4 recruits with ton of upside. Recapping, Farnum is a straight up freak that can use his athleticism to take over games. He’s incredibly fast-twitched which makes him able to be incredibly slippery with the ball, and incredibly hard to get by on defense. He has amazing fundamentals and instincts, and is set up for a great 2022 season.
#6 RaSean Randall RaSean Randall 6'4" | 220 lbs | ATH Cass Tech | 2023 State MI (#37 overall, Cass Tech)
On the defensive line, RaSean Randall RaSean Randall 6'4" | 220 lbs | ATH Cass Tech | 2023 State MI is a high-upside athlete with great fundamentals and IQ. His amazing performance against Muskegon this past season really exemplifies the type of athlete he is. He put tons of pressure on the QB with finesse and some power, and was seen blowing up the veer plays that Muskegon runs.
