Khalid Bueno out of Martin Luther King has had an extremely productive spring recruiting cycle. The 2025 prospect is 6’2 | 220 lbs going into his Senior campaign. Beuno has picked up offers from Marshall, Stony Brook, Army, Howard, Lafayette, Morgan State, and Duquesne this spring. Before this cycle, he picked up offers from Monmouth, Temple, Indiana, Akron, and Bowling Green. Khalid has the potential to break out this season and I’m excited to watch it happen. 

A wrestler, a 3.15 GPA, standing at 6’2, 220, MLK’s Khalid Bueno Khalid Bueno 6'2" | 220 lbs | LB Martin Luther King | 2025 State PA made the top ten cut in what is a ridiculously talented backer class. Weight fluctuates between 215-225. Too many go without mentioning Bueno’s relative versatility. Has experience attacking several gaps, has experience dropping into the deep middle and curl-hook zones. Bueno has experience stationed as a true ILB, but has prior reps showcasing his skills at the LOS. A front-seven monster who is one of the better middle-men in all of District 12. Can be tasked with rushing the passer stationed outside of tackles. MLK looks to run a ton of 2-4-5 sets, makes total sense considering they have a kid who can both run-stuff and play the pass. Bueno is best with his hand off the dirt, yet I’d imagine he’d still register 5+ sacks a season as a traditional DE/EDGE prospect. In terms of future projection, I like Bueno as a potential starter at a G5. Bueno might be an all-around dominator in the Pub, I’d imagine he’d find a specific role at the next level. I love his potential transition to SAM backer, so long as the alignment allows for him to play freely. I’d like to see him serve as a scrape/fill backer if he works in a 3-4. Happy to see him still rank as a top 50 player in his state.

That is until the new staff at Indiana, with obvious ties to PA/Philly, swooped in and offered the top 10 linebacker out of the PPL. Temple also followed suit, a bit surprised they hadn’t offered him earlier. Let’s see if Bueno’s stock can get back on track after this flurry of schollies. Bueno also took a JDV to Monmouth University with some MLK teammates recently.

Khalid Bueno is a solidified star in the state, a prospect with many opportunities stacking up behind the scenes. A front-seven dominator, one with a 3.1 GPA, a workout warrior, coaches at MLK sing his praises left and right, the young man checks off several boxes on and off the field. How can Bueno elevate his stock here? In terms of ranking, that would be tough to do, seeing as though he already stands as a top 50 prospect in his class. What he can do, is post a Broad, 40, L-drill, or Shuttle time that forces me to pick up the phone and tell P5s about it. We know how crucial testing is for decision-makers at the highest level, having Bueno post a dominant time could prove to be crucial in the eyes of those recruiting him. I’ll be the first to let anyone know if and when he does.

• Plug Bueno in at EDGE/DE. Can rush the passer and create pressure with his hand on or off the dirt, he’s looking cleaner, slimmer, and more refined than ever. Put his hand in the dirt, let him use leverage to win between the tackles if need be.
• Next, have Bueno stand up at OLB to rush the passer, or cover the pass (curl-flat zones). Have him align at MLB if needed too, he can plug holes and attack blockers all day if needed.
• Icing on the cake, Bueno can be deployed in an H-back role, aligned in the backfield to chip or lead block, truly an impact blocker on offense.
