It was a grueling 9 Week Regular Season and one heck of a road to IHSA State for those that made the playoffs. After reviewing the film of the Top 40 teams in the class of 1A, we’re diving into the 1A All-State Offensive Edition. Without further ado, let’s dive into it.
1st Team
QB Easten Schisler Easten Schisler 5'8" | 150 lbs | QB Abingdon Avon | 2022 IL 5’10 150 22′ Abingdon-Avon Twitter
Mr. Schisler can get the ball out quickly when running RPOs and runs the option showcasing his mobility as his legs are a legit threat to the defense. When working in platform, he can get the ball off under pressure and make level three throws where he adds a touch on the deep ball. When scrambling, he weaves in and out of defenders while he changes his gears quickly. He can burst through the line of scrimmage and uses his lateral quickness to turn the corner where he isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder. If the play breaks down, he can make something out of nothing by pulling the ball down to scramble to keep the chains moving.
QB Carson Hoffard 6’2 175 23′ Sesser-Valier
Mr. Hoffard gets the ball off under pressure and makes level 3 throws adding a touch on the deep ball when working in platform. When working out of platform, he can escape pocket pressure and finds his man downfield to keep the chains moving. This goes hand in hand with his ability to extend plays as he keeps his eyes downfield once he’s flushed out of the pocket and can pull the ball down to scramble if nothing is open downfield. He runs the option as his legs are a legit threat to the defense giving us a chance to see his ability to change gears quickly.
RB Aidan Laughery Aidan Laughery 5'11" | 185 lbs | RB Gibson City Melvin Sibley | 2022 State IL 5’11 186 22′ Gibson City Twitter
Mr. Laughery has the vision to find running lanes quickly between the tackles where he bursts through the line of scrimmage and has that next level gear to outrun pursuit angles as well as blow by 2nd level defenders. He uses his lateral quickness to turn the corner and finds cutback lanes showcasing his good change of direction as he plants his foot into the ground and goes quickly. This young man keeps his feet driving fighting for extra yards, once he’s in open space he weaves in and out of defenders. In the return game, he gets vertical quickly to get into the endzone for touchdowns.
RB Rahmareon Roby Rahmareon Roby 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Lena Winslow | 2022 State IL 5’10 165 22′ Lena Winslow Twitter
Mr. Roby has the vision to find running lanes quickly between the tackles as he burst through the line of scrimmage and has that next level gear to outrun pursuit angels as well as blow by 2nd level defenders. He uses his lateral quickness to turn the corner and utilizes quick cuts to make defenders miss in open space as well as hit cutback lanes. This young man maintains a low center of gravity as he keeps his feet driving breaking weak arm tackles in the process as well as weaving in and out of defenders in open space.
RB Matthew Beltran 6’1 180 22′ Forreston Twitter
Mr. Beltran is a wingback that has the vision to find running lanes quickly between the tackles as he burst through the line of scrimmage and showcases his next level gear by outrunning pursuit angles as well as blowing by 2nd level defenders. He isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder to play through contact and can catch out of the backfield on play action deep shots downfield. In the return game, he gets vertical as he changes his gears quickly to get into the endzone for a punt return touchdown.
WR Kyle Leonard Kyle Leonard 6'3" | 180 lbs | WR Carrollton | 2022 State IL 6’2 185 22′ Carrollton Twitter
Mr. Leonard can line up both outside and in the slot, both of which he’s quick off the line of scrimmage which he uses to stack the defender before breaking him off at the top of the route creating separation on the play. He attacks the ball at the highest point coming away with contested catches, can make the catch in traffic, and utilizes a toe tap to secure sideline grabs. This young man goes up for 50/50 balls and finds the soft spot in zone coverage where he’ll sit to become an outlet for his quarterback.
WR Tyreke Fortney Tyreke Fortney 5'9" | 155 lbs | WR St. Bede | 2022 State IL 5’9 155 22′ St. Bede Twitter
Mr. Fortney can line up both outside and in the slot, both of which he attacks the ball at the highest point o come away with the contested catch. He’s quick off the line of scrimmage giving him a step advantage on the defender which he uses to stack and break the defender off at the top of the route creating separation on the play and he can win over the top with his speed. When running jet sweeps, he uses his lateral quickness to turn the corner as he changes his gears quickly and upon securing the catch he gets vertical.
WR Trey Beebe Trey Beebe 5'11" | 165 lbs | WR Aurora Christian | 2022 State IL 6’0 175 22′ Aurora Christian Twitter
Mr. Beebe can line up both outside and in the slot, both of which he can win over the top understanding as well as utilizing leverage. This young man can make the catch in traffic and uses a toe tap to secure sideline grabs. He runs a good double move which allows him to win over the top securing touchdowns and upon securing the catch he gets vertical. In terms of his route running, he gets in and out of his breaks well creating separation on the play and finds the soft spot in zone coverage where he’ll sit to become an outlet for his quarterback.

Mr. Leonard fires off the ball latching on quickly as he washes the defensive lineman down and gets to 2nd level blocks cutting off linebacker flow. He showcases his power by driving the defensive lineman back 5+ yards downfield and finishes by keeping his feet driving through the whistle. When pulling, he’s quick out of his stance to kickout the defensive end as well as trap the defensive tackle. In pass protection, he uses his lateral movement to patiently await the rushing defensive lineman to get within arms length before latching on.
OL Caiden Miller Caiden Miller 6'5" | 260 lbs | OL Arcola | 2022 State IL 22′ Arcole
Mr. Miller gets to 2nd level blocks cutting off linebacker flow and washes the defensive lineman down, this all happens by him firing off the ball latching on quickly. He showcases his power by driving the defensive lineman back 5+ yards downfield through the whistle. In pass protection, he patiently awaits the rushing defensive lineman to get within arms length before latching on.

Mr. Henry fires off the ball latching on quickly as he washes the defensive lineman down and gets to 2nd level blocks cutting off linebacker flow. When he blocks in open space he picks up the defensive back playing the alley and at times can seal the outside linebacker. His power is showcased as he drives the defensive lineman back 5+ yards downfield through the whistle. In pass protection, he uses his lateral movement to patiently await the rushing defensive lineman to get within arms length before getting hands inside and latching on.
2nd Team
QB Alex Graham Alex Graham 5'10" | 175 lbs | QB Marquette | 2023 State IL 5’10 170 23′ Marquette Twitter
Mr. Graham can get the ball out quickly when running RPOs and navigates the pocket well where he can step up as well as escape by feeling the pocket pressure. When working in platform, he gets the ball off under pressure where he can make level 3 throws as he’ll add a touch on the deep ball and sells play action well. When working out of platform, he escapes pocket pressure and delivers a strike downfield with his upper/lower half working in unison.

Mr. Pohlman is mobile as his legs are a legit threat to the defense, this is seen with him running QB design runs as well as running the option. Both of which he weaves in and out of defenders in open space and if nothing is open downfield he can pull the ball down to scramble. When working in platform, he gets the ball off under pressure and adds a touch on the deep ball. This young man adds easy velocity across all three level throws (level 1, level 2, and level 3).

Mr. Slaughter has the vision to find running lanes quickly between the tackles as he bursts through the line of scrimmage and uses his lateral quickness to turn the corner. Once he clears the first level, we get to see his next level gear as he can outrun pursuit angles and blow by 2nd level defenders where he can make defenders miss with his quick cuts showcasing his elusiveness. At times, he’ll run jet sweeps out of the slot to further showcase his ability to turn the corner with his lateral quickness. In the return game, he weaves in and out of defenders to get into the endzone for a touchdown.

Mr. Shaklin uses his lateral quickness to turn the corner and burst through the line of scrimmage after he uses his vision to find running lanes quickly between the tackles. He finds cutback lanes and once he does he uses a quick cut to hit them where he’ll fight for extra yards and plays through contact. This young man maintains a low center of gravity as he keeps his feet driving breaking weak arm tackles in the process. In the return game, he weaves in and out of defenders as he changes his gears quickly to either set his team up in good starting field position as well as returning them for touchdowns.
RB Kevon Tilman 5’8 170 22′ Lutheran
Mr. Tilman has the vision to find running lanes quickly between the tackles and once he does he bursts through the line of scrimmage. He has a good change of direction where he will plant his foot and go. This is seen when he reverses field as well as when he weaves in and out of defenders in open space. Once in open space, he showcases his elusiveness by making the first defender miss. In the return game, he gets vertical as he changes gears quickly returning them for touchdowns as well as setting his team up in good starting field position.

Mr. Schemehorn lines up both outside and inside as a receiver where he attacks the ball at the highest point to come away with contested catches as well as make the catch in traffic. Upon securing the catch, he gets vertical and runs jet sweeps out of the slot where he uses his lateral quickness to turn the corner. During the QB scramble drill, he does a good job creating separation to become an outlet for his quarterback downfield keeping the chains moving.
WR Ryan Williams 6’1 175 24’Chicago Hope Academy
Mr. Williams is a slot receiver that runs jet sweeps and uses his lateral quickness to turn the corner. once he does, we get an insight into his next level gear as he outruns pursuit angles and blows by 2nd level defenders. He’s quick off the line of scrimmage which he uses to stack defenders before breaking him off at the top of the route creating separation on the play. In the return game, he gets vertical as he changes his gears quickly coming away with touchdowns.

Mr. Reinhart is quick out of his stance when pulling as he kicks out the defensive end and picks up the defensive back playing the alley. He can wash the defensive lineman down and get to 2nd level blocks cutting off linebacker flow. This young man showcases his power by driving the defensive lineman back 5+ yards downfield as he finishes plays by keeping his feet driving.
