This was a huge get for the Longhorns because Cameron possesses freakish athletic ability to go along with a great pallet of football IQ. What’s most impressive about Cam, is his finish and nastiness. Football is not a nice game especially in the trenches and having him run at you full speed has to be a scary sight! I remember my first day as a Reginald Samples staffer and watching him and thinking Cam was a college or pro offensive tackle, meanwhile, he was only 16.

Since then he has completely changed his body, and has shown vast technical development. With the intangibles that he brings to the table, I expect him to be an immediate difference-maker, and one to keep an eye on.

Steve Sarkisian’s staff in Austin wasn’t done there.

The next commit to pledge to the Longhorns comes in standing at 6’5 and 300 lbs is [player_tooltip player_id="60695" first="Kelvin" last="Banks"] out of Humble, Texas. Kelvin is regarded as one of the top tackles in the nation and it’s not hard to tell why. He is a very long tackle prospect that loves to finish. For example, he went viral this past season for having an absolutely NASTY pull, pancake, and finish on a linebacker. Kelvin, just like Cam was originally committed to the University of Oregon before their coaching change. But with the coaching carousel in full swing both ended up in Austin. This haul with those two alone would be class-changing ingredients for many programs but the longhorns still weren’t finished there.

The next offensive linemen they were able to corral came in [player_tooltip player_id="60784" first="Neto" last="Umeozulu"] out of Allen high school. To anyone that’s been around the high school football scene in the DFW you know exactly who he is. If you are not from the area though Neto is a 6’5 and 285 lbs durable offensive linemen who has been a leader and left a lasting impact at Allen High School. To me, I envision him as an interior guy for Texas playing guard or center. Neto has a huge ceiling and has a boatload of potential that longhorn fans should be excited about.

Another congratulations goes out to offensive linemen [player_tooltip player_id="60700" first="Kam" last="Dewberry"]. Another very long, lean, and nasty OL Kam recently pledged his commitment to Texas A & M but with their offensive line coach leaving for USC it will be interesting to see how his recruitment plays out. With the house of pancake initiative going on at the University of Texas I envision them being back in the mix for the talented tackle out of Houston Texas.

Last but not least, we have to give a huge congratulations to Sully Burns out of Plano High School. Big Sully recently committed to Tulane University and from my gauge will be one of the best OL recruits they’ve been able to haul in over a great period of time. Sully brings an interesting blend of power and a surplus of nastiness that will help him flourish at the next level. With Sully having the baseline of technique that he does I see him as being an early contributor to the green wave offensive line.
