This offensive line is a hard-nose group, that has powered them throughout the postseason.

Led by first-year head coach Jason Todd, anyone that has watched them play, knows that they are physical. Their massive SEC like offensive line has been clinking and finishing key blocks throughout the playoffs. Led by 6’5, 370 lbs Brione Brooks, who recently picked up an offer from Georgia Tech, has been playing his best football. 6’5 350 lbs 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="131480" first="Dennis" last="Jones"], has been a factor and made a name for himself this postseason as well. The Bears are coming off of a statement victory against Lovejoy and are slated for another big match-up this weekend. They will need to bring the same level of focus and intensity to continue their Cinderella story. This round five match-up against 13-1 Cooper, will be a true test.

6A D2 match-up Katy vs Westlake will be a huge showdown between two perennial powerhouses. The Westlake offensive line is an utterly physical group with copious division one talent. Their unit is led by All American TJ Shanahan but also includes many other high major guys. Katy is an explosive team with many weapons, and an offensive line that has been playing well. Led by [player_tooltip player_id="131870" first="Isaiah" last="Ybarra"], they will look to their big fellas up front to lead the way. Both teams have a rich tradition and bevy of talented linemen. I look for this match up to be a downhill slugfest, that will come down to the wire.

From the private school state championship, the Parish Episcopal panthers captured yet another state title. The Panthers offensive line flexed their muscles and once again helped pave the way for another big night on the ground. Led by 2024 Sam Liu, the offensive line showed up big in their lopsided victory against Midland Christian. With them having such a young nucleus of major contributors, look for them to be the team to beat in private school ball in the state for a while.

Our most anticipated match-up of the 6A playoffs comes between familiar rivals Southlake and Duncanville. This round-five match up will undoubtedly be won or lost in the trenches. Historically, it has always been a even match up. Southlake Carrol was able to come out on top last year, but this year is without five star QB [player_tooltip player_id="60687" first="Quinn" last="Ewers"]. All American and former Oregon commit, [player_tooltip player_id="60710" first="Cameron" last="Williams"] leads the way for the Panthers offensive line and they will need to show up big again this week to keep their state championship hopes alive. Southlake is a tough, and disciplined team who aren’t going to make a lot of self-inflicted mistakes. With the Southlake and Duncanville both playing great football, I expect this game to come down to the last drive.
