Rob Howe | Prep Redzone Scout
It’s been a year of rejuvenation at Carlisle after the program fell off a bit following a 10-win season in 2022. The Wildcats won their first seven games and on Friday faced a North Polk program that’s been among the most successful in Class 4A this decade. They met the challenge and made a statement with a 28-14 victory. As had been the case all season, Carlisle received key contributions up and down the roster. None was more impactful than Berg’s, however. The senior rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries, adding two catches for 37 yards. He also led the way defensively with 11.5 tackles, eight of which were solo stops, and continued handling the team’s punting duties. Berg is a good all-around athlete with physicality that could be of use at plenty of colleges.
