Adamsville Defeats Lewis County (Game Recap/Top Performers)

<p>There were several impactful prospects on the field this Thursday evening as Adamsville came to town to face off against Lewis County. After catching all of the action, here's my full game recap as well as my top performers.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Top Performers</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">In the first place spot on my list is JC Gray, a quarterback at Adamsville High School. Gray was unstoppable at the helm of the Cardinals' offense, punching in four touchdowns on the night. In addition to excellent size, speed, and a powerful arm, Gray impressed me with his ability to be shifty on the ground, shaking a number of tackles on his way into enemy territory. This talented signal caller should not be slept on as the season continues.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">I was additionally impressed with Deuce Garner, an athlete at Adamsville High School. Garner stood out in the second half of the contest, scoring the final touchdown of the evening for the Cardinals. On top of great size, Garner stands out with his explosive speed as well as his ability to withstand heavy contact on his way into the endzone.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Another player to catch my attention was Kobe Feichtinger, an athlete for Lewis County. Feichtinger was stellar on both sides of the ball, running in the Panthers' sole touchdown of the night as well as making a number of impressive stops on defense. What stands out about Feichtinger's playstyle is his athleticism and electric speed off the snap. This talented senior out of the Hohenwald area will be worth keeping an eye on as the season continues.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Also worth mentioning is [player_tooltip player_id='2347197' first='Jackson' last='Johnson'], an athlete at Adamsville High School. Johnson made a number of big plays on both sides of the ball, hauling in a few great passes throughout the first half. In the second half. Johnson had a huge run that helped put the Cardinals in scoring range. Defensively, Johnson did a great job defending the backfield, hauling in an interception late in the fourth quarter. This talented freshman is worth keeping an eye on as he continues to develop.</p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Game Recap</h2>   <p>Adamsville found the endzone on their first drive of the contest as JC Gray muscled his way into the backfield and took it all the way to the house for the touchdown. The Cardinals tried to kick the extra point but it was no good as Adamsville held an early 6-0 lead over Lewis County with 10:48 remaining in the first quarter. Lewis County tied things up before the end of the first half as Kobe Feichtinger ran in the touchdown from a few yards out. At the half, the game was tied up 6-6. The Cardinals were back on the scoreboard with 9:24 on the clock in the third quarter as Gray escaped the defense from along the edge and ran in another touchdown. Gray would also go on to score the two-point conversion as Adamsville led Lewis County 14-6. By the start of the fourth quarter, Gray ran in his third touchdown of the evening to extend the Cardinals lead to 20-6 with 11:32 left to play. Gray ran in his fourth and final touchdown of the night with 8:51 left in the game to give his team a 28-6 lead. Adamsville would put the game away at the 6:09 mark of the fourth quarter as Deuce Garner blasted into the house for the touchdown. Adamsville would go on to defeat Lewis County 36-6.</p>
