You don't see Hobbs get shutout at home very often, but the Bulldawgs dominated both sides of the ball in a convincing 41-0 victory at Watson Stadium. The offense led by QB [player_tooltip player_id='2182154' first='Aldo' last='Gallegos'] was on point while the defense led by UNM commit LB [player_tooltip player_id='1606042' first='Denton' last='Walter'] suffocated Hobbs all night.   </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Cibola</strong> trounced winless Miyamura, 56-13, Thursday at Community Stadium for the Cougars' first win of the season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2257412' first='Ezra' last='Mehling']</strong> scored four TD (two rushing, two receiving) as he finished with 72 yards rushing on four carries + 57 yards receiving on two catches.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Silver</strong> (3-1) rallied past No. 1 Moriarty (MaxPreps ranking) for a 22-19 victory in Silver City. The Colts trailed 13-8 after three quarters. They took a 14-13 lead early in the fourth quarter before Moriarty grabbed the lead back at 19-14 midway through the frame. Cleveland amassed 626 yards in total offense. A week after trouncing Clovis, Santa Fe amassed over 500 yards of offense in an impressive 55-24 victory over Highland at Ivan Head Stadium. Senior RB Jesus Navarette, who missed the previous two games with an injury, rushed for 193 yards and 2 TD to lead the Demons prolific offense. Navarette had four runs of 36 or more yards in the first three quarters. QB Francisco Chavez threw 3 TD passes. It was the most points scored by SFHS in seven years. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Best Team Defensive Performance</strong>: <strong>Las Cruces</strong>.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Best Games: Silver 22, Moriarty 19; Dexter 22, Santa Rosa 21.</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In a Top 5 battle in Class 2A, Dexter traveled to Santa Rosa to face the Lions and came away with a hard-fought 22-21 victory. Santa Rosa lost a regular season game at home for the first time in two years. &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Sophomore of the Week:</strong> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2114509' first='Devon' last='Chavez'], Estancia</strong>. The Bears sophomore is a regular here, and for good reason. Chavez rushed for 187 yards and 4 TD on a workhorse 25 carries to lead Estancia to a 34-28 road win at Tucumcari. Chavez proved again he's one of the most dynamic and exciting players in Class 2A. The Huskies' dynamic freshman QB led his team to a 35-20 road win at Ruidoso by completing 24-of-34 passes for 246 yards and 1 TD. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Best Road Warriors: Dexter; Eldorado.</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Facing a must-win situation, Eldorado traveled to Las Cruces to face unbeaten Organ Mountain at Field of Dreams. The Eagles' offense clicked all day long in a 52-28 win over the Knights. They scored 38 points in the first half, jumping out to a 28-0 lead on four TD and a safety. Eldorado overcame a huge day by Organ Mountain QB [player_tooltip player_id='1597499' first='Jaydon' last='Kraft'], who threw for 151 yards and rushed for 137 yards. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>Who's 4-0?</strong>: <strong>Sandia</strong> stayed unbeaten by dominating the trenches in a 46-0 victory over Albuquerque High Thursday night at Wilson Stadium. The Matadors rushed for 263 yards on 39 carries, led by junior RB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1613382' first='Gad' last='Harris']</strong>, who had 107 yards and 1 TD on 17 carries. Sandia QB [player_tooltip player_id='1594010' first='Jahleel' last='Lewis'] rushed for two TD. Sandia built a 32-0 halftime lead and cruised home from there. Defensively, Albuquerque High was held to 3-of-18 passing and just 39 yards rushing on 16 carries. Sandia outgained AHS, 297-55. . .<strong>Belen</strong> is still unbeaten as a result of a 47-6 victory over Pojoaque Valley. RB Haydn Bullington rushed for 3 TD while Eagles dynamic QB [player_tooltip player_id='1604925' first='Gonzalo' last='Cano'] rushed for 112 yards, threw for a TD and ran for another. A road win at Santa Teresa next week would set up a Sept. 25 showdown between Belen and rival Valencia. . .<strong>West Las Vegas</strong> improved to 4-0 by stopping a late Raton drive into the end zone for a hard-fought 14-7 victory. The Tigers drove as far as the WLV 10-yard line in the final two minutes. On 4^th-and-goal from the 15 with 39 seconds left, Raton's pass fell incomplete and WLV took over and ran out the clock. John Vigil caught a TD pass for the Dons, who led, 7-0, at halftime. Raton RB [player_tooltip player_id='1604784' first='Cael' last='Walton'] had a 4-yard rushing TD for the Tigers. . .<strong>Hope Christian</strong> remained perfect by opening district play with a 35-20 road victory over Ruidoso. Centennial led, 21-7, at halftime and outscored Carlsbad, 14-0, in the second half. . .Artesia QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2246666' first='Lucas' last='Atkins']</strong> was a perfect 10-of-10 passing for 215 yards and 4 TD in the Bulldogs' 53-0 mercy-rule win over Deming. Promising sophomore QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1118255' first='Chance' last='Hocker']</strong> was 5-of-7 passing for 85 yards. WR <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2178689' first='Kai' last='Greathouse']</strong> caught 2 TD passes and finished with 100+ yards receiving. . .Dynamic Volcano Vista ATH <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1679989' first='Isaiah' last='McCary']</strong> took a reverse on the opening kickoff and raced 89 yards for a TD as the Hawks scored early and often in a 50-0 mercy-rule win over Clovis. Junior QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2109033' first='Jude' last='Herrera']</strong> was 9-of-10 passing for 168 yards and 2 TD. Volcano Vista ran only 28 plays on offense. Clovis was held to 5-of-16 passing for  17 yards. Volcano Vista led, 44-0, at halftime. . .Farmington QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1680067' first='Rock' last='Kalcich']</strong> threw for 270 yards and 2 TD in the Scorpions' loss to Cleveland. Overall, Farmington amassed 419 yards in total offense.  . .Rio Rancho QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1604705' first='Micah' last='Takahashi']</strong> threw 3 TD passes and ran for another TD while Rio Rancho WR <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2246575' first='Gilly' last='Terrazas']</strong> scored a career-high 4 TD as the Rams pulled away in the second quarter in a lopsided 58-13 victory over Atrisco Heritage Saturday at Community Stadium. The Rams took a 30-7 halftime lead when their defense registered three consecutive sacks and forced an intentional grounding call from the end zone in the final seconds of the first half. In addition, <strong>Carter Manning</strong> had a Pick-6 for the Rams. . .La Cueva QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1183085' first='Monty' last='Melendez']</strong> threw for 2 TD and ran for 2 TD in just one quarter of action as the Bears mercy-ruled West Mesa, 54-0. Panthers sophomore QB <strong>Rosalio Gomez</strong> completed 14-of-22 passes for 208 yards and 5 TD, while RB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1790772' first='Armando' last='Ramirez']</strong> rushed for 144 yards on 9 carries. Gadsden averaged 9.5 yards per rush and total over 400 yards in total offense. Defensively, the Panthers had 6 players with 10+ tackles. . .Roswell scored 28 points in each half of the Coyotes' 56-26 road win at Alamogordo. Roswell RB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1826036' first='Luis' last='Rodriguez']</strong> (152 rushing yards on 7 carries) opened the scoring with a 58-yard TD run just over two minutes into the game. Four minutes later, Coyotes QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1853724' first='Andruw' last='Fuentez']</strong> threw a 38-yard TD pass to WR <strong>Danny Castro</strong>. Roswell led, 28-19, at halftime and outscored the Tigers, 28-7, in the second half. The Panthers ran for well over 300 yards. . .Los Lunas mercy-ruled Capital, 50-0, in a game that ended shortly after the start of the third quarter. Portales amassed 463 yards in total offense (215 passing, 248 rushing). . .Defending two-time champion Bloomfield traveled to Albuquerque and beat Manzano, 35-6. Bloomfield jumped out to a 19-0 lead and thereafter rode a dominant defense to the win. RB <strong>Questin Ellis</strong> rushed for 121 yards for the Bobcats. . .Bernalillo used a balanced rushing attack to blank Taos, 42-0. In the 1^st quarter, Spartans QB <strong>Isaiah Jaramillo</strong> (2 TD passes) threw an 11-yard TD pass to <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='853757' first='Ulisses' last='Castro']</strong> and <strong>Riley Tafoya</strong> returned a punt 53 yards for a TD less for a 14-0 lead less than six minutes into the contest. Grants led, 27-0, at halftime and cruised home from there. . .Valley (2-2) won its second straight game with a 53-0 mercy-rule win over Del Norte at Milne Stadium. RB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1605046' first='Zachary' last='Perez-Verdeja']</strong> rushed for 140 yards and 3 TD while QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2256683' first='Jeremiah' last='Garcia']</strong> threw 3 TD passes and rushed for another TD top spark the Vikings' offense. The Valley defense held Del Norte to minus-19 rushing yards. . .Lovington lost at Monahans (TX), 35-7. The Hatch Valley defense limited NMMI to 62 yards rushing on 26 attempts. . .St. Michael's (4-0) extended its winning streak to 37 games with a 53-0 mercy-rule win over Kirtland Central in Santa Fe. Horsemen QBs <strong>Karsen Patten</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1826298' first='Estevan' last='Gonzales']</strong> combined for 259 yards and 4 TD through the air. The St. Michael's defense posted a third straight shutout and has allowed just 6 points in four games. The game ended late in the third quarter when OL <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1604774' first='Jedrek' last='Lewandowski']</strong> powered over from two yards out. . .Aztec (2-2) freshman QB <strong>Logan DiGiacomo</strong> threw for 116 yards and 2 TD on 18-of-31 passing as the Tigers won a defensive battle over Thoreau, 12-8. . . The two teams combined for 31 penalties and seven turnovers. Navajo Prep visits Crownpoint on Thursday. . .Cobre (3-1) rushed for 354 yards and 4 TD on 27 carries in the Indians' 39-0 road win over Cuba. QB <strong>Jay Dominguez</strong> rushed for 150 yards and 2 TD. . .Newcomb beat Crownpoint, 30-2. . .Hozho Academy rushed for 184 yards and <strong>Keihin Kirk</strong> caught 2 TD passes in a 50-0 mercy-rule win over Shiprock. . .Santa Fe Indian (3-1) won on the road at Laguna-Acoma, 22-6. . .Tularosa mercy-ruled McCurdy, 51-0, on Saturday. . .Texico lost at Ropes (TX), 50-8. The Wolverines rushed for only 1 yard on 20 carries. . .Legacy Academy lost at Lubbock (TX) Trinity Christian, 41-6.
