As a WR he has a smooth release off the line of scrimmage and has the speed to run past corners. Last week against Hillsboro he had 3 catches, 2 of them for long TDs. In the secondary he'll line up as a corner and a deep safety. He shows excellent anticipation and that was on display in Week 1 with 3 interceptions. Mitchell uses his long arms, footwork, and excellent anticipation skills to stay glued to WR's. He's shown versatility in how he plays the corner position as well; he's just as comfortable pressing as he is playing zone. He already has a punt return for a TD this year as well. On offense he'll primarily line up in the slot taking short passes and making big gains out of them. On defense what really showed up on tape was his willingness to be physical in the run game. Lining up as safety or a boundary corner, Anderson diagnoses plays quickly and flies to the ball.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":1} --> <h1 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='1685249' first='Thomas' last='Evan Davis'] Antioch:</h1> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><br>As a running back Davis is decisive and gets downfield in a hurry, he doesn't dance, he gets to the hole and lowers his shoulder. Once he gets to 2nd level has enough burst to run away from the secondary. As a boundary corner he plays with aggressiveness and hits with physicality. He also shows the footwork to stay with WRs in one-on-one situations. On offense he carries the mail as one of the most productive running backs in the mid-state. In Week 3 he had 102 yds rushing and 4 total TDs. On the season he's averaging 113 yds rushing per game with 8 TDs. Defensively he patrols the middle of the field as a downhill LB. He's got good size at 6'0 190lbs and uses that size to his advantage as a slot WR. He has good hands and excellent acceleration once he gets the ball. That same acceleration he uses to close on ball carriers as a defensive back.
