This is due to the fact that for these players to even achieve these stats, they have had to do so against the best team’s in the state. Below, you will not be disappointed, as you will see some of your favorite players in the state have stepped up in plenty of big ways.
Justin Thomas (RB)- Benedictine
Last week was one of the biggest rushing performances we have seen all playoffs, as Thomas not only stepped up for his team, but his contributions helped his team to come out on top of Luella 63-7. In this match up, Thomas rushed for 5 TD’s solidifying his team’s win, and making it impossible for Luella to stop Benedictine’s rushing attack.
Jacurri Brown Jacurri Brown 6'4" | 205 lbs | QB Lowndes | 2022 State GA (QB)- Lowndes
Brown, who has shown out for Lowndes all season, only continued to ball out for the Vikings, as he helped lead them to a close win over Norcross. In last Friday’s game, the Vikings defeated the Blue Devils 35-34, and Brown was efficient for his team, as he not only threw a TD, but he also ran for TD. Not only was he a leader for his team on offense, but on the defensive side of the ball, he also created a turnover, which closed the deal for his team to win the game.
Damarkus Lundy (RB)- Irwin County
During Friday’s game, Lundy was a solid playmaker for Irwin County as he not only rushed for 104 yards, but he also totaled 2 TD’s as well. These 2 TD’s were enough to help separate his team from their opposition. Eventually, this would contribute to his team’s 51-27 win.
Travis Hunter Travis Hunter 6'1" | 165 lbs | ATH Collins Hill | 2022 State GA (WR/DB)- Collins Hill
Hunter only continued to prove why he is one of the best players in the entire country, as he showed out in a big time playoff win over Pebblebrook. Not only did they dominate Pebblebrook 48-6, but Hunter himself caught 11 passes, for 183 yards. In addition to this, he also recorded 3 TD’s and an interception, only proving that he is as versatile as they can possibly come.
K.J. Bolden (WR)- Buford
It should come as no surprise that Bolden has only continued to prove his ability to be an effective WR in the biggest moments for his team. Last week, not only did he catch a TD, but he was a big part in his team’s ability to build momentum, as he recovered a blocked punt in the end zone. All around, this performance helped lead his team to a 44-7 win, sending them to the 3rd round of the playoffs.
Cole Speer Cole Speer 6'1" | 185 lbs | WR Calhoun | 2022 State GA (WR)- Calhoun
Speer has continued to be a major factor for his team as he not only helped his team to get a close win over Ware County, but he also recorded a TD, which was big in a final score that read 49-42. In this game, Speer also caught 10 passes for 201 yards, which is not only impressive, but very solid for the amount of times he touched the ball. If he can continue to perform at this rate as the season advances, we have no doubt in our mind that he may have one of the best playoff performances in the state as a whole.
Shannen White (QB)- Thomasville
Shannen has furthered his successful season as he not only lead his team to a win over Heard County, but he also threw for 4 TD’s and 252 yards, proving that moments in the playoffs are not too big for him. By the end of the game, the final score read 42-16, with his total stats for the season racking up to a 1,525 yards and and 19 TD’s. Entering into next week, we will be keeping a close watch on the possibility of him continuing to stack his performances even further into the season.
