Rogers senior remains a Royal

When Travis Sinclair walked off the football field for the final time for Rogers High School, he knew in the back of his mind that there was a chance that it wasn’t the last football game of his career. The multi-sport athlete had been in contact with many schools throughout his senior year, talking with colleges at all levels before finally making the decision that was best for him. Sinclair decided to continue being a Royal. “There are always a lot of factors when considering a school and those factors are increased when you are looking at being a student-athlete,” Sinclair said. “I thoroughly enjoy the facilities, coaches, players and the atmosphere at Bethel.” Wearing No. 73 for Coach Franz and Co. the offensive lineman had offers from many schools, keeping his weekends busy with visits, all while wrestling for the Royals wrestling team. Schools Sinclair looked at were Concordia-Moorhead, Jamestown University, Bemidji State University, Wheaton College and Bethel, his ultimate landing spot. “I plan on majoring in engineering,” Sinclair said. “Bethel has a four-year program which is different than a lot of other schools I was considering. That was big for me.” Since he was young, Sinclair has dreamed of playing football in college with an ultimate dream of playing in the NFL, the dream of many youngsters who put on pads for the first time. You don’t reach your goals alone though, and Sinclair feels lucky to be a part of a fantastic Royals program that helped him grow as a person on and off the field. “The biggest things the Rogers coaches helped me with were keeping me focused on what I wanted in a school and getting my name out there to coaches,” Sinclair said. “They kept reminding me of what I should want, what I should look for, and ultimately what I think is the best fit for me and not other people.” Sinclair says that coaches Marc Franz, Dustin Sluzewicz, Kenneth Worel and Justin Oie shared advice from when they played, which he said was extremely helpful in the process when narrowing down his final list. Sinclair also thanks his parents and his faith for getting him to this point in life. “I mainly want to thank my parents for always supporting me in all my efforts to be the best I can be. I thank all of my coaches for the hours they invested in me and lastly I want to thank God for blessing me with the opportunity and ability to play this amazing game of football.”
