<p class="gmail-yiv6655381279msonormal"><span style="font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: ’Helvetica’,sans-serif; color: #1d2228;">Camden, Dillon, Brookland-Cayce or Oceanside Collegiate are the likely top contenders in Class 3A lower state. Last season, it was Camden that earned the right for a state championship. That quest begins again this week for 16 teams in the Lower State.</span></p> <p class="gmail-yiv6655381279msonormal" style="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;"><span style="font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: ’Helvetica’,sans-serif; color: #1d2228;">Here is a look at the first round games in the Lower State Class 3A:</span></p> <p class="gmail-yiv6655381279msonormal" style="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;"><b><span style="font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: ’Helvetica’,sans-serif; color: #1d2228;">3A Lower State</span></b></p> <p class="gmail-yiv6655381279msonormal" style="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;"><b><span style="font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: ’Helvetica’,sans-serif; color: #1d2228;">No. 4 Waccamaw (2-7) at No. 1 Brookland-Cayce (7-2)</span></b></p> <p class="gmail-yiv6655381279msonormal" style="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;"><span style="font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: ’Helvetica’,sans-serif; color: #1d2228;">Brookland-Cayce has an offense that features QB <b>[player_tooltip player_id="199432" first="Tanner" last="Staton"]</b>, RB <b>Naahzeikiel Mays</b> and WR <b>Skylar </b>King. They’ve scored 35 points or more in five contest this season. LB <b>[player_tooltip player_id="200697" first="Owen" last="Plane"]</b> leads a defense that has made plays when they had too. Waccamaw has struggled defensively and are allowing over 36 points per game. </span></p> <p class="gmail-yiv6655381279msonormal" style="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;"><b><span style="font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: ’Helvetica’,sans-serif; color: #1d2228;">No. 3 Lakewood (4-5) at No. 2 Hanahan (7-2)</span></b></p> <p class="gmail-yiv6655381279msonormal" style="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;"><span style="font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: ’Helvetica’,sans-serif; color: #1d2228;">Hanahan has scored over 45 points in four of its last five games. The Hawks sophomore RB Kevin Rivera and LB <b>[player_tooltip player_id="140607" first="Kayden" last="Gaddist"]</b>. Lakewood will rely on the play of OL <b>[player_tooltip player_id="202752" first="Bryson" last="Dickens"]</b> and DB <b>[player_tooltip player_id="200739" first="Brandon" last="Cisse"]</b> to try and keep up with the high-flying Hawks.</span></p> <p class="gmail-yiv6655381279msonormal" style="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;"><b><span style="font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: ’Helvetica’,sans-serif; color: #1d2228;">No. 4 Bishop England (3-7) at No. 1 Camden (7-2)</span></b></p> <p class="gmail-yiv6655381279msonormal" style="background-image: initial; background-position: initial; background-size: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial;"><span style="font-size: 10.0pt; font-family: ’Helvetica’,sans-serif; color: #1d2228;">Camden suffered some early season injuries but seem to be playing its best football at the right time. The defensive line is loaded with talent like <b>[player_tooltip player_id="153229" first="Dontrell" last="Stradford"]</b>, <b>[player_tooltip player_id="91233" first="Jonathan" last="Chavis"]</b>, <b>[player_tooltip player_id="89338" first="Xzavier" last="McLeod"]</b> and LB <b>[player_tooltip player_id="61078" first="Tevin" last="Eley"]</b>.
