Can Mitchell Finally Get Over The Hump This Season?

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>When it comes to high school football in the state of Florida, there are those programs who automatically demand respect for what they have done to reach that certain level.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>After that group of teams, there is the next level who have come close to making a historic run. That is where Coach <strong>Andrew Schmitz</strong> and his New Port Richey J.W. Mitchell Mustangs come in.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Over much of the past decade, this is a team that continues to win district titles and produce top-flight talent, but when it comes to the state playoffs, come up short in those big games.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Coming off another impressive season in 2025 where they finished 10-3 and captured yet another district crown, many felt that this could be the year that things fell into place – especially after upending Palmetto in the second round of the state playoffs.
