Claflin-Coy has quickly made his presence known after making the move to Florida, and he’s already sitting inside the top 10 among 2029 passing leaders with 1,315 yards. The sophomore quarterback has 9 touchdown passes midway through the season and brings legitimate experience to the position after putting atogether a huge freshman season in Connecticut. At 6-2, he has an appealing frame, and the arm talent is what originally caught attention. There’s still an adjustment period at a new program and against Florida competition, but the production has been strong enough to make him one of the more interesting quarterbacks in this class.

Claflin-Coy has come down to Florida and gelled well despite a tough start for the Tigers. He’s sitting just under 1,000 passing yards midway through the season and is coming off a big-time performance, going 26-for-34 for 256 yards and four touchdowns. That’s the type of game that can give a young quarterback a lot of confidence heading into the second half of the year. He has shown a good feel for the passing game and the ability to distribute the football, while his accuracy has continued to stand out. Now he gets another tough matchup this week with another opportunity to show what he can do.
