Prep Redzone Louisiana is set to begin its latest rankings update Monday with a fresh list for the 2027 class ahead of the group's upcoming senior year.

As part of the update release, we will count down the top 50 prospects in more detail, including a mix of many familiar faces as well as a few new additions.

Here's a look at Nos. 40-31, including one debut and a couple stock-risers.

No. 40 — [player_tooltip player_id='942208' first='Mason' last='Moore'] — 5-10, 170 DB — Central

One of the highly ranked prospects in Prep Redzone Louisiana's earliest lists, the Wildcats' dynamic defensive playmaker brings an impact to the field that drastically exceeds his measurables with his instincts, nose for the ball — whether on interceptions and deflections or forcing and recovering fumbles — and willingness to play physically. Moore committed this spring to Ole Miss, but has also received a more recent LSU offer.

No. 39 — [player_tooltip player_id='1801742' first='Jackson' last='Shaw'] — 6-6, 260 OL/EDGE — Catholic-Baton Rouge

Shaw hit the Prep Redzone Louisiana radar initially as a defensive end, but — even despite being hamstrung by injury late this fall — has continued to emerge as an even more promising prospect at offensive tackle with his length and mobility. Shaw committed this past week to home-state Tulane.

No. 38 — [player_tooltip player_id='1250291' first='Alex' last='Fontenot'] — 6-2, 190 WR — Alexandria

The Trojans' top target has continued to prove himself among the top wide receivers in a strong Louisiana class at the position with a 1,000-yard junior campaign and another strong camp season this spring. Fontenot, who recently committed to Pittsburgh, has a strong build, 4.5-second 40-yard speed and some of the best hands in the class.

No. 37 — [player_tooltip player_id='2056653' first='Jewellz' last='Tapp'] — 6-1, 170 DB — John Curtis

The Patriots' lockdown cornerback and multisport standout is the highest-ranked defensive debut in this round of updates and one of the state's most recent commitments with his pledge Saturday to TCU. Tapp is speedy, tough and has shown a consistent knack for making well-timed plays for takeaways and deflections.

No. 36 — [player_tooltip player_id='934571' first='Bryson' last='Phoenix'] — 6-2, 230 EDGE/LB — Alexandria

A longtime highly ranked Prep Redzone Louisiana prospect, Phoenix is a big, strong and tenacious rusher off the edge and sure tackler whether with disruptive plays behind the line of scrimmage or meeting running backs in the hole and shutting down plays in traffic. And the new Texas State commitment has worked and developed notably as a versatile defender capable of dropping into space and being reliable in coverage.

No. 35 — [player_tooltip player_id='1737490' first='Bra'jon' last='Melancon'] — 6-1, 160 DB/WR — North Iberville

One of the major stock-risers in the class this junior year, Melancon is long, lean and fluid athlete with great hands who has been a two-way star for his Bears. He has been an explosive, field-stretching weapon as much as anything during high school, but also has the makeup with his frame and speed to potentially develop into one of the top corners in the class.

No. 34 — [player_tooltip player_id='1356164' first='Jayden' last='Vessell'] — 6-2, 200 EDGE/DL — Catholic-Baton Rouge

The Bears' defensive end is a stout, strong athlete who has the ability to beat opposing blockers in a variety of ways with his combination of strength, quickness, bend and use of leverage. Catholic consistently plays one of the state's toughest schedules, and Vessell has a long track record of game-changing, disruptive plays against the best competition and in the biggest stages and moments.

No. 33 — [player_tooltip player_id='485983' first='Emmanuel' last='Moses'] — 5-11, 180 DB — University Lab

One of the smartest and most instinctive defensive playmakers in Louisiana's rising senior class, Moses is a quarterback and ballhawk on the back end of the defense with the mentality and physicality of a linebacker and the ball skills to rack up takeaways when tested with throws in his range.

No. 32 — [player_tooltip player_id='934564' first='Braylun' last='Huglon'] — 5-10, 175 WR/ATH — Calvary Baptist

The Cavaliers' star began his high school career as one of the state's top young cornerbacks and has developed into one of its most explosive weapons on the other side of the ball. Huglon is a quick, explosive athlete who consistently works himself open with his route-running and reliably catches everything thrown his way. He recently committed to Colorado State where he is anticipated to earn playing time right away.

No. 31 — Tylek Lewis — 6-1, 220 RB — Zachary

Lewis burst onto the Louisiana radar this fall with an 1,100-yard, 21-touchdown debut season in the state after moving in from Texas and exploded on the recruiting trail this spring. He's a bigger, stronger athlete in person than even pops with his physical running on film, but with good feet through traffic and the ability to open up eye-popping track speed at his size — having posted 100-meter dashes in the 10.7-second range, including a 10.90 run at state championships last month.
