In the last couple of weeks we have been taking a look at the stat lines for playmakers on both sides of the ball and on special teams as they prepare for this fall. We started out on offense, shifted gears to defense and then last week looked at the special team ballers, with an emphasis on the class of 2028 and 2029.

In this report we are going to wrap up the stat-line reviews with a look at the sack masters who dominated coming off the edge, as a defensive end with his fist in the dirt, or mauling and brawling from the interior to stack up the sacks last fall.

Additionally, there are two schools well represented below - Christ Prep, features two brothers who teamed up for 33 sacks last year; and KC Washington, had 30 sacks between their top 3 rushers.

So, without further adieu, let's see who stepped up as the Returning Class Sack Leaders from last fall:

[player_tooltip player_id='1664441' first='ZayVion' last='Hayslett'], 6'1”, 200, Edge/DE, KC Washington, '28 - #1 overall with 19 SACKS - #1 for all classes - coming off a monster sophomore season when he not only led the state in sacks regardless of class, but had 66 tackles, 31 TFL, 25 QB hurries, & two forced fumbles, which included a 6-sack game in late September. Playing as an edge rusher he explodes off the snap using his athleticism and a lethal bend and burst move to get to the quarterback. He gets in the backfield in a hurry causing disruption and has the kind of lateral speed needed to put up these kinds of numbers. It has been a productive off-season with it gathering momentum as he gets ready to blow it up this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='2067457' first='Samuel' last='Savenok'], 6'5”, 245, DE/T, Christ Prep Academy, ‘27 - #2 overall with 17 SACKS - and #1 for the upcoming seniors, he is another baller coming off a sizzling season helping his team to a 13-0 record on the strength of his 17 sacks, 74T, 23 TFL, 3 FFs, 3 blocked punts, 3 blocked FGs and had a pair of defensive touchdowns. He comes off the edge like a heat-seeking missile and uses his first-step burst and violent hands to hit blockers in the mouth on the way to the QB. With great read and react skills and instincts, he also has next-level size, power and length and has had a strong off-season getting ready for his senior year. This guy is ready for an even more dynamic season this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='2081872' first='Daniel' last='Savenok'], 6'4”, 225, DE/TE, Christ Prep, '28 - #3 overall with 16 SACKS - and #2 for the upcoming juniors, at the other edge for CPA's devastating pass rush is the younger bro who is cut from the same cloth and it is often a race to see who gets to the quarterback first. He also had a standout year with 58 tackles, 25 tackles for loss, 2 forced fumbles, and a TD to go with his 16 sacks. With ideal power, reach and athleticism he shucks blockers with one arm and makes tackles with the other. With his relentless motor he uses his pursuit burst and killer instinct to make plays sideline to sideline. With a busy off-season training plan going well expect him to dominate this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1881280' first='Brooks' last='Bayer'] , 6'3, 245, Edge/ATH, Spring Hill, '27, #4 overall with 14 SACKS - and #2 for the upcoming seniors, up next is a D1 prospect who I featured recently in a shout out and for good reason. He is coming off a huge year when he showed that he is next-level ready with 70T, 27 TFL, 14 sacks, 2 picks for TDs, 3FR for TDs, and a state-best 5 defensive TDs. His off-season has been stacked, between playing hoops, track, baseball and powerlifting and has been visiting schools almost every weekend, with the most recent at West Point. With his powerful, athletic game, he essentially shuts down his side of the field. Get your popcorn handy, as he is getting ready to put on a show this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='2128004' first='Adidas' last='Madlock'], 6'1, 255, DL/DE, KC Washington, '29 - Freshman leader with 4 SACKS - led all freshmen - coming off his first year of varsity, he quickly acclimated to the game and helped lead the defensive charge with 20T and 8TFL to go along with his four sacks. Lining up at defensive tackle, he shuts down plays between the tackles in the run game and has shown excellent skills as an interior rusher. Get this guy on your watchlists as he is a baller on the rise.

Also of note: Just missing the top 5: Tage Sullivan, 6'3, 215, DE/WR, Colby, '28, with 8 sacks as well (and in only 7 games); and another KC Washinton baller, DeAndre Gillon, 6'2, 200, DE, KC Washington, '27, with 7 sacks.

In conclusion, get out and see these guys dominate this fall - you will not be disappointed. Also, DM me via X if you run across any players flying under the radar.

And, as usual…
